President of the RS, Biljana Plavsic, and the Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH, Robert Barry agreed that the forthcoming elections should be used to question political leaders and make them responsible for events in the last two years. Barry stated that the OSCE would not finance pre-electoral campaigns of any political party in the RS or BiH Federation.

In Sokolac today, employees of the RS MUP arrested the Director of the SDS Main Office and a councillor in the Srpsko Sarajevo Municipality, Milovan Bijelic. Bijelic, also the Director of the “Centrex” company, was arrested along with two employees of the company and a police officer.

The UNHCR in Belgrade informed the press that the largest organised group of returnees to Croatia so far, will depart Belgrade tomorrow morning. About 150 refugees will be transported to their homes in Lika, Banija, Kordun, surroundings of Knin, Western Slavonia and other areas in Croatia.

The Mediator for establishing the BiH Federation, Christian Schwartz-Schilling, after a tour in 7 cities of the entity, warned that the IC will no longer tolerate empty talk by the Federal partners on refugee returns. “It is high time to realise the promises, otherwise a list of politicians who have been obstructing returns will be published in 20 days” said Schwartz -Schilling.
