RS Prime Minister Dodik talked with the executive director of the Commission for Property Claims of Refugees and DPs in BiH, Steven Segal, in BL today. Dodik stated after the meeting that they had had a very successful meeting concerning the issue of property returns to refugees and DPs. Dodik said the Commission would intensify its work in the future. The Prime Minister also talked with a delegation of the Children’s Embassy, consisting of the Secretary General of this international organisation, Dusko Tomic, and the newly-appointed children’s ambassador, Craig Kilburger. The representatives of the Children’s Embassy informed the Prime Minister about their activities, giving help to the children of the RS in the post-war period, and asked for the support of the RS Government in their future plans.

The RS and FBiH Joint Military Commission held a meeting today. The meeting discussed de-mining of the territory as one of the priorities in the process of reconstruction of the RS and FBiH, the implementation of the decision on joint licence plates, as well as participation of soldiers in the forthcoming elections.

Agriculture and power resources, together with privatisation, were the basic subjects of today’s discussions between RS Government representatives, USAID and international donors, aimed at the post-war reconstruction of the RS.

The regular exchange of mail between the RS and FBiH was established today. Postal exchange in the BL – SA direction will be carried out three times a week. At a meeting held today in the BL main post office, representatives of the UPU (Universal Post Union) presented an X-ray machine for controlling postal packages to the RS post office.

The USA suspended its programme of equipping and training soldiers of the FBiH army, because they are dissatisfied with the degree of integration of the Croat and Muslim army, the SA press reports.
