INOST ’98, Fourth Fair of Innovations, New Products and Technologies, was opened today in Banja Luka by the RS Vice President, Dragoljub Mirjanic, and there are 206 participants, from 33 countries. The Mayor of Banja Luka, Djordje Umicevic, stated that the aim of the fair “…is to improve creativity in Banja Luka and the RS, through linking with worldwide achievements and similar events in other environments. Deputy High Representative, Hanns Schumacher, attended the fair.

Rajko Vasic, Minister of Information, issued a press release referring to “…so-called single BiH Television…”. The release states that “…all ideas published about BiH television being a public single radio-television are a part of an arsenal of improvisations and irresponsible behaviour, which can only be described as a perfidious attempt to change the Dayton Agreement. Any kind of unity in the field of information technology is only possible if that is in the interests of the two entities and if the entities agree to it…”

RS Member of the BiH Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik, on the issue of FRY and Serbia politics referring to Kosovo and Metohija, stated that “…We are ready to fight for Kosovo with the same kind of zeal as we do for the RS…”

OSCE Spokesman, Paul Hockinos, stated at today’s regular press conference of international agencies that the registration of political parties and independent candidates for general elections in BiH had been completed on May 25th. Hockinos said that 69 political parties and 11 independent candidates registered in the whole BiH, out of which there were 21 parties and 2 independent candidates in the RS.

Vice President of the RS, Dragoljub Mirjanic, met yesterday in Banja Luka with Ionna Camish, Australian Embassy Charge D’Affairs. Mirjanic stated that the RS and Australia have a common interest in cooperation in the fields of agriculture, food processing, science and technology, as well as trade. The Vice President also commented on the new OSCE rules, saying that they were a violation of the RS Constitution and he disagreed with the OSCE decision denying mandates to the RS Member of the BiH Presidency, as well as to the RS president and Vice President.
