The RS President Biljana Plavsic talked in Banja Luka today with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to B&H Filip Sidorski. After an hour-and-a half meeting there was no press statement but it is supposed that they were talking about the visit of the RS President to Russia planned for the next month.

The Deputy High Representative, Hanns Schumacher, the Head of the OHR in Banja Luka, Miguel Arias, and an expert group from Germany visited Prijedor today and on that occasion talked with the municipal authorities about the refugee return and some public utilities issues in that town. The concrete reason for this visit is one of the most important projects for Prijedor – the reconstruction of the central heating which was the most discussed issue at the meeting held behind the closed doors with the Prijedor Mayor and the members of the Executive Board. According to Schumacher the process of refugee return will be accelerated after the elections. After the meeting in the municipal building in Prijedor, Schumacher visited Kozarac in order to see the implementation of the refugee return plan in that area.

The RS Minister of Education, Nenad Suzic, stated in Brcko today that an agreement had not been achieved with the Supervisor Farrand regarding his request to introduce the Latin letters to the border parts of the Brcko municipality inhabited by Moslems and Croats. The RS President Biljana Plavsic and the Supervisor Robert Farrand should talk about it tomorrow. The meeting of the RS Minister of Education, Nenad Suzic, and the directors of the elementary and secondary schools was held in Brcko today at which the beginning of the school year was discussed.

More than 1,200 of the former holders of the tenantąs right to the military apartments in Sarajevo have submitted the requests for return. However, the destiny of these requests which should be realized in line with the Sarajevo Declaration on Return is still totally uncertain since, during and after the war, only in the area of this town, about 1,500 military apartments have been allocated to the veterans and war invalids from the Moslem-Croat Federation.
