More than 1,000 persons lost their lives due to the three destructive waves of high tide caused by submarine earthquakes on the North-Western coast of Papua New Guinea in the last two days.

The review of the situation in Kosovo and Metohija. A group of terrorists is still trying to illegally cross the Yugoslav border even after an official protest of the Yugoslav Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent to the Albanian Embassy. Police forces control the center of Orahovac after they unblocked this afternoon the police station and the post office in the town. There are more and more discussions on the fact that the representatives of the Serbs from Kosovo should be involved in solving the Kosovo-Metohija issue.

A retrospective survey of the three-day visit of the RS President Biljana Plavsic to the municipalities in the eastern part of the RS during which Plavsic talked with the municipal authorities about the situation in the municipalities, closing of the collective centers and the key role of the forthcoming September elections. In these municipalities President Plavsic addressed the people as well underlining that there is no difference between the western and the eastern part of the RS and that the RS Government and state institutions treat both parts in the same way.

The Jekavian dialect is to be again in the official use in the RS not only because of the decision of the RS Constitutional Court but also because of the constant requests of the citizens who want to speak the language of their ancestors.

The independent media from the B&H Federation report that the Chairman of the B&H Presidency, Alija Izetbegovic, stated that nobody would be able to evict Moslems from the abandoned apartments in Sarajevo not even if the sanctions were to be imposed. According to Sarajevo media, in the last ten days, numerous violations of human rights of returnees to Sarajevo, Mostar, Livno and other places in the B&H Federation have been registered. From Germany and other Western European countries some refugees willingly return to B&H while some of them are forcibly returned by authorities. So far, 7,000 refugees have returned from Berlin to B&H.
