News Summary

Croatian Election Committee press release

President of the Croatian Election Commission Marjan Ramuscak stated that the Commission is waiting for the consent of ten countries, including BiH and Yugoslavia, for Croatian citizens to vote in their territories during the Croatian presidential elections on 24 January. Ramuscak said that 37 countries have given consent for the voting. 3,000 of 9,000 possible voters re-voted at 11 polling stations for the Croatian Parliament.

Presidents of SDP, HSLS, HSS, LS, IDS and HNS agree on formation of new Croatian Government and Parliament

The presidents of the six Croatian parliamentary parties formed a coalition agreement for authority administration. The agreement will verify the leadership of each party over next two days. The signing of the agreement is set for Thursday. SDP President and future Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan stated that the agreement will also establish the manner in which the government will be formed and decide the leadership of the Croatian Parliament and its working bodies.
