Six days after the Dubrovnik agreement, BiH officials verified the international contract between BiH and Croatia about use of the Ploce Harbour. With the presence of US Special Envoy, Sclar, and HR Principal deputy Klein, BiH Presidency President Izetbegovic, CoM Co-chairman Silajdzic and Foreign Trade and Economy Minister, Kurtovic verified the agreement. It is expected that Croatian President Tudjman, Prime Minister, Matesa and Minister of Economy Porges will also verify the agreement in Zagreb.

Croatian President Tudjman received a visit of BiH Ambassador to Croatia, Muratovic. Main issues of the meeting were the upcoming elections, agreement on BiH approach to the Adriatic coast and transfer through Neum, agreement on special relations between BiH and Croatia and economic co-operation. It was agreed to sign the Ploce agreement immediately after the elections.

World Bank delegation arrived to Sarajevo led by the General Manager for BiH, Portman. Experts will collect economic indicators of what was done so far and future necessities, and make a report, which will be the guideline at the next donors’ conference for BiH. CoM Co-chairman Silajdzic received Portman and discussed the issues of the privatisation process in BiH and modernisation of the banking system in BiH as well as the BiH debts and obligations toward the Paris Club. Silajdzic stressed the readiness of BiH negotiation team to hold another meeting with the Paris Club in order to achieve more suitable agreement for refund of BiH debts. Federation Government President Bicakcic and his deputy Bilandzija also met with the WB delegation, discussing the report that will be submitted at the donors’ conference.

NATO is fully prepared for military strikes in Kosovo. As reported from Brussels, the only item left to be solved is when will the member countries decide to use the force. Kosovo Liberation Army spokesman, Demaci announced continuance of fighting in Kosovo and said that Albanians are ready to pay any price for their freedom. Serbian sources reported that the Serbian police in Kosovo found 12 bodies of killed Serbian civilians at the riverbank of the Decanska Bistrica River. According to the police sources, Albanian extremists shot at least 40 persons and foreign monitors and journalists visited the place today. Serb forces killed 843 Albanians in Kosovo since January 14, Pristina Human Rights Board said. 88 of this figure are children while over 600 are registered as missing.

Sanctions of the European Union toward FRY are being implemented as of today. Germany was the first to ban the Yugoslav Air Company flights, which was also the motive for political scandal. Namely, FRY President Milosevic refused to meet with Belgian FA Minister Erik Derycke, before his departure to Pristina. It was said that refusal came with no reason. Vienna Ministry of Air Traffic said that regular flight Belgrade-Vienna was conducted as scheduled. Vienna officials said that more legal details need to be provided along with the decision on banning the flights to YAT.

Wood factory “Konjuh” from Zivinice is the first BiH Federation company to be privatised. Tuzla/Podrinje Canton Privatisation Agency Steering Board approved privatisation and starting balance for the “Konjh-Zivinice” Company.
