Lukavica – Chaired by Chairman of the BiH Presidency Alija Izetbegovic, the BiH Permanent Military Committee held a session today. After a two-hour debate, the participants adopted the operational plan for the following six months and reviewed activities of the Secretariat functioning within the Military Committee. Concerning military representation of BiH in the world, it was agreed that BiH military representatives would be first selected to the OSCE HQ in Vienna, NATO HQ in Brussels and Washington. The next meeting of this body is to be held in late November until which time expert teams are supposed to elaborate modalities for BiH representation and participation in various international manifestations and military drills under NATO supervision.

Sarajevo – BiH Foreign Minister Jadranko Prlic and UN SRSG Kai Eide signed a memorandum of understanding on the activities of the UN Mine Action Center. Thus, the CoM and its relevant commission reached an agreement with the UN on mine operation activities.

Ambassador Eide stated that the process of elaboration of a unique registration plates for BiH was underway in order to improve FOM.

Doboj – BiH, HVO and VRS generals held a meeting with SFOR high ranking officials to review progress in the implementation of military aspects of the DPA. The report mentioned that VRS officers did not wish to board a train on the line Doboj-Tuzla, which had been established under SFOR supervision.

Sarajevo – The media featured a lengthy report on a long standing dispute between the FBiH Government and the companies Energopetrol and Energoinvest. 400 workers from Energopetrol insisted that a new director had to be elected by company’s managing board.

Mostar -The LBO forwarded an official request to the OSCE to declare the elections in Mostar void, said the report. At a press conference, LBO officials pointed out that the OSCE had failed to prevent manipulations of voters by the two ruling parties and because of that the elections should be declared void.

Sarajevo – At a press conference, Suada Hadzovic, SDP Vice President referred to the problem of school curriculums and stated that the BiH state has not regulated in a systematic manner its obligations in the sphere of human rights and education to meet international standards. The SDP Vice President criticized the cantonal government for offering a cash reward in tracing down suspects in the latest bombing in Sarajevo. According to her, such measures cannot make up for a badly organized system of protection.
