RS Council of Peoples chair: Parliament is not Kalinic’s private enterprise

Dnevni Avaz cover page, pg 3‘Parliament is not Kalinic’s enterprise’ – RS National Assembly Speaker Dragan Kalinic emphasized in a letter sent to Mirsad Ceman on Saturday that the parliamentarians form the RS would not participate in public debate on changes to the BiH Constitution. “Dragan Kalinic should finally realise that the RS parliament is not his private enterprise,” said RS Council of Peoples Chair Remzija Kadric commenting on the Kalinic’s letter. According to Kadric, Momir Malic and Pejo Krnjic, the Vice-presidents of the RS Council of Peoples, have promised they would participate in the debate. Head of SDA caucus in the RS National Assembly Tarik Sadovic says that the fact is that the Constitution cannot be changed without consent of all three constituent peoples. However, according to Sadovic, avoiding to participate in any discussion on the issue might damage RS showing it as the main obstacle to any progress in the country.

Kalinic: Serb people formed RS, Serb people will defend it

Vecernji List, front ‘Either RS stays, or there will be war’ and pgs 2-3 ‘Serbs are threatening, RS stays or war’, by Dejan Jazvic, Dnevni Avaz ‘Call for abolishment of RS may jeopardise stability in BiH’ – The Speaker of RS NA and President of SDS, Dragan Kalinic, warned the Bosniak member of BiH Presidency, Sulejman Tihic, and like-minded persons that calls for abolishment of the RS could endanger peace and “set the fire which was believed to be finally extinguished’”. In an interview to a local “OSM” TV station at Pale, Kalinic noted that constant calls of some Bosniak politicians aimed at abolishment of the RS could destabilize the situation in BiH and the region. “Sulejman Tihic and likes of him will not be able to abolish the Republika Srpska because the Serb people formed it and the Serb people will defend it”, stated Kalinic. Glas Srpske pg 3 ‘Over Dayton ’ also addressed the issue.

Spiric: SDS writes new BiH Constitution

Nezavisne Novine pg 4 ‘Far from public eye, SDS is writing the constitution of the civic BiH’; Glas Srpske pg 2 ‘Podzic seized other people’s property’, Dnevni Avaz pg 2 ‘Spiric: Kalinic is cynical’, Oslobodjenje pg 5 ‘SDS writes new BiH Constitution’ – At yesterday’s press conference in Banja Luka, Nikola Spiric, Co-Chairperson of the BiH House of Representatives, inter alia, said that far from public eye, SDS is taking part in the writing of the civic constitution of the BiH, which does not include the existence of the entities. Spiric said that a letter, which Dragan Kalinic, RS Parliament Speaker, addressed to Mirsad Ceman, President of the Constitutional and Legal Commission, represents a part of pre-election campaign. He said that “during their pre-election campaigns, SDS and SDA are making national heroes of each other by exchanging favours and services in order to get as many good points with electorate as possible.”

Spiric also said that Sulejman Tihic, SDA President, will not destroy the RS, but instead the most important institutions of RS would do it.

Barisa Colak on constitutional organization of BiH

Dnevni list, pg 4, ‘Croats must raise issue of constitutional organization of BiH’, by Miso Relota, and Vecernji list, pg 2, ‘Colak on abolishment of FBiH’, by Z.K. – apart from SDA and PDP, HDZ BiH is also traveling to Berlin upon the invitation of CDU and in the organization of Konrad Adenauer Foundation to the gathering aimed at bringing European populist parties together. On the eve of the trip, Barisa Colak has stated that the talks in Berlin will revolve around overall position of BiH from perspective of populist parties of BiH. He adds that one cannot look at the situation in BiH only without looking at overall relations in the region. “Croats should initiate serious talks on constitutional organization of BiH. The sooner we sit at the table to talk about it, the sooner we will resolve the issue. The Dayton created by the International Community is overcome and the IC’s duty is to help us enter a new phase. This means decrease of High Representative’s powers in BiH and taking initiative by domestic authorities in all the fields’, Colak says. VL adds HDZ will present in Berlin the initiative to abolish FBiH, i.e. to transfer its competencies onto the state.

Lagumdzija on PfP, HR

Oslobodjenje pgs 4-5, mentioned on cover ‘If BiH is not admitted into PfP that will be a genuine gift to Karadzic’ – Interview with BiH Social-Democratic Party leader Zlatko Lagumdzija. Lagumdzija said he was confident that BiH should be admitted into the Partnership for Peace program at the upcoming NATO Summit in Istanbul. Rejection to do so, said Lagumdzija, would be the best present to Radovan Karadzic and all those who had done their best to obstruct any kind of the progress in BiH. Paddy Ashdown is actually a man who did not vote at the latest elections but who did his best to allow victory of the three leading national political parties and their two junior partners,” said Lagumdzija commenting on the role being played by the current High Representative in BiH.

Norway supports BiH application for PfP

Oslobodjenje pg 7 ‘Norway’s pessimism ahead of the NATO Summit’ – Norway’s government supports BiH’s application for admission into PfP and then NATO. However, some basic criteria must be met both for PfP and NATO,” said Jan Brat, the advisor for the Balkans for the Norway Foreign Minister, in an interview for Oslobodjenje.

Second BiH Diaspora Congress ends

BHTV, FTV, Oslobodjenje cover page, pg 3 ‘Split between ‘Englishmen’ and ‘Germans’ avoided’, Dnevni Avaz pg 5 ‘Compromise saved unity of the roof organisation’, mentioned on cover ‘Quarrel amongst representatives of BiH Diaspora’, FENA – The 2nd Congress of BiH World Diaspora Association (SSD BiH) ended on Sunday with election of the new administration and other bodies. Namik Alimajstorovic was re-elected SSD President, while Milorad Muratovic and Senada Softic-Telalovic were elected Vice-presidents. SSD reiterated the need for establishing a ministry for Disapora as a means for direct participating in resolving the problems BiH population abroad is facing. “We can be more or less satisfied with the work of the state bodies, but the fact remains that not a single of the eight key requests we made last year has been fulfilled, and this information speaks for itself”, Alimajstorovic told the press. In course of the Congress it was ascertained that Diaspora wishes to cooperate with BiH and its state bodies. “We must and wish to cooperate with BiH and its state bodies, but we must not flatter them. We must and should help BiH, but it must give us something in return”, said member of the SSD Main Board Nihad Filipovic. Representatives of SSD expressed preparedness for investing in BiH once the normal economic conditions have been created. Delegates from 23 countries have been participating in the Second SSD Congress, which was organized under patronage of BiH Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees. The second day of the Congress was shadowed by a dispute between the delegates from England and Germany on whether each country should be represented by one delegate or countries such as Germany where there are more BiH citizens should have more delegates.

Spiric calls for questioning of BiH Presidency

Dnevni List, back pg, ‘Questioning of members of BiH Presidency’, by Danka Polovina-Mandic – Deputy Speaker of BiH Parliament’s House of Representatives, Nikola Spiric, will request the (BiH Parliament’s) Commission for finances and budget to undertake questioning of members of BiH Presidency related to the audit report of BiH institutions, “which will be an opportunity to see whether the parliamentary majority is protecting the crime that went on in the Presidency”. Spiric apparently stated that according to the current legal provisions, only the High Representative for BiH can remove members of the Presidency, but he does not want to do it, adding that the only solutions are that either the Presidency resigns or the BiH Parliament’s leadership dissolves the Parliament and calls for early elections.

DL: SDU Youth demands resignations of BiH Presidency members

Dnevni list, pg 6, ‘Resignations of BiH Presidency members requested’, not signed, – Social Democratic Union (SDU) Youth has issues a press release in which it calls upon the BiH Presidency members to resign since they behave with negligence and irresponsibility towards citizens who elected them to the mentioned positions. SDU Youth finds it shameful that the Presidency has still not replied to SDU Youth’s questions, submitted on 13 May, regarding Presidency members’ expenditures.

NN on BiH Presidency money wasting

Nezavisne Novine, pg. 3 ‘They are spending BAM 2,5 million on rent’ by N. Krsman mentioned on cover ‘Joint Institutions building is empty, they are spending BAM 2,5 million on rent’ – A report on audit of the Service for Joint Works of BiH Institutions reads that approximately BAM 2,5 million has been paid out from BiH budget for renting premises for BiH institutions. Auditors warned of a slow reconstruction of the building of BiH Joint Institutions in Sarajevo . The report also reads that the project has not been clearly defined from the beginning and the coordination between the Project Board, Services and CoM was not satisfactory. Auditors suggested that a professional agency or a firm, which would be selected through a public tender, should be entrusted with realization of the project.

NN op-ed on Ashdown

Nezavisne Novine op-ed pg 7 ‘Abnormal Ashdown’ by Sead Fetahagic – The author is making a reference to Friday’s press conference by Paddy Ashdown, High Representative to BiH, regarding the work of the joint institutions of the BiH. The author says: “I did not want to say it in public before that abnormality comes from higher to lower seats. I did not want to make it public before Paddy Ashdown said that this is not a normal state… Is lord sane to notice this only now, because I and my fellow men have been aware of this a long time ago!”

The author also claims that it is obvious even when Dayton Peace Agreement was created that this Agreement would not work out, since each side would try to do everything in their interest. “Even then, normality was questionable!”, says Fetahagic.

Spiric to block appointment of Sifet Podzic

Vecernji List, pg 4 ‘Stop the appointment’, by bs, Dnevni List, back pg, ‘Questioning of members of BiH Presidency’, by Danka Polovina-Mandic, Blic, pg. RS2 ‘To prevent the appointment of Sifet Podzic’ by M. J., Glas Srpske pg 2 ‘Podzic seized other people’s property’ – Deputy Speaker of BiH Parliament’s House of Representatives, Nikola Spiric, will request the BiH Parliament to block the appointment of Rifet Podzic to the duty of Chief of Joint HQ of BiH armed forces because, according to Spiric, Podzic is a man who uses apartment of Jovo Vukobrat, who bought the apartment in Sarajevo back in 1992. Spiric argues that Podzic is a user of somebody else’s property, not a man who could reform the military in BiH. Vukobrat is a retired RS Army colonel.

DL on petition for Croat channel on FTV

Dnevni List, pg 5, ‘FTV channel on Croatian language’, by M. Relota – majority of members of Croat caucus in the BiH Parliament’s House of Peoples has signed petition for establishment of a channel in Croatian language on FTV, launched by former MP Stjepan Jurkic. Josip Merdzo, Deputy Speaker of FBiH Parliament’s House of Representatives, says he supports initiative for three national TV channels at state level: “The initiative would be a contribution to equality of peoples from the aspect of representation in media and use of language. Entire country should be covered by signals of all the three channels“. Merdzo adds that he does not believe such a solution would be expensive.

DL: Statement of the Day – Reis-ul-ulema Mustafa Ceric

Dnevni List’s Statement of the Day column, pg 2, carries Reis-ul-ulema, Mustafa Ceric, as saying: “Unfortunately, we in BiH have neither TV nor radio that spreads hope”.

Nezavisne Novine – Facts from the Srebrenica report

Nezavisne Novine cover and pg 5 ‘Destruction of procession of Srebrenica people ordered by RS Army General and advisor to Police Minister’ – RS Army Colonel, Dragan Obrenovic, during talk with a General with the Main HQ, proposed that the procession of Bosniaks from Srebrenica should be allowed to pass through to Tuzla. However, this anonymous General refused this and ordered the procession be stopped and destroyed. The Srebrenica Commission report also reads that: “The advisor to RS Police Minister (name unavailable) at that time also agreed with that.”

The report also reads that Obrenovic, and other officers, were taking away people wherever they wanted.

According to report, Srebrenica people were trying to find rescue at UN base in Potocari.

According to NN inset, NATO did not deploy air-support owing to fear for the Dutch soldiers of UN seated in Potocari.

The report also concludes that the work of the Srebrenica Commission is a historic act, and as such is subject to the judgement of history.

Note that this is the second article presenting facts from the Srebrenica Report. The first one was published in the weekend edition of Nezavisne Novine. Oslobodjenje pg 3, mentioned on cover ‘Serbs admitted mass execution of Bosniaks’ also presented these facts.

Spiric criticizes delay in publishing Srebrenica report

Oslobodjenje pg 3, mentioned on cover ‘Mikerevic and Cavic knew about developments in Srebrenica?’, Dnevni Avaz pg 2 ‘Cavic and Mikerevic knew about crimes in Srebrenica’, SRNANikola Spiric, deputy Speaker of the BiH House of Representatives and member of the main and executive committee of the SNSD (Alliance of Independent Social Democrats), said on Sunday that it was “tragic that members of the commission for investigating events in the Srebrenica area in July 1995 received all information contained in the commission’s report from representatives of the RS government”. “This calls into question what the government bodies have been waiting for until now,” Spiric told a news conference in Banja Luka. Spiric went on to say that he “sensed that RS President Dragan Cavic and Prime Minister Dragan Mikerevic knew this information”. “They need to explain to the public why they waited for such a long time,” Spiric said. He is of the view that “this explanation is necessary for the sake of the RS and the peoples its government representatives belong to, if they have embarked on such a serious task”. “If all information in the report came from the RS government institutions, regardless at what level, I wonder how it is possible for everyone, in a political and all other context, to keep their posts,” Spiric said. He stressed that all those who had committed a crime had to be punished in order to prevent this “from constantly being used against generations who are born now”. Spiric said that this report also carried a specific weight with regard to a genocide verdict passed against Gen Radislav Krstic in the Hague tribunal, adding that “the RS government, unfortunately, was not aware of it”. He is of the view that the international community will not allow the report on Srebrenica to remain a “dead letter” and that it will request that perpetrators of the crime in Srebrenica be brought to justice.

Vecernje novosti, pg. 6 ‘Why there are no resignations’ by FoNet – Nikola Spiric wonders why nobody from RS authority considers a possibility of submitting a resignation over crimes in Srebrenica.

Nezavisne Novine: Reactions to Srebrenica Commission report

Nezavisne Novine pg 4 ‘Why truth was hidden for 12 years” – NN brings several reactions onto Srebrenica Commission report.

Nikola Spiric, Co-Chairperson of the BiH House of Representatives, yesterday said that RS authorities admitted crime had been committed in Srebrenica, noting that not a single official feels moral responsibility to resign.

Slobodan Popovic, delegate of the SDP of BiH at RS NA, said that the report confirmed “crime in Srebrenica was projected by the SDS authority and Radovan Karadzic with the assistance of the former Yugoslav President, Slobodan Milosevic.” He also finds it appropriate that the officials, who took part in preparation of Srebrenica crimes, should file resignations.

Sinisa Djordjevic, advisor at the Cabinet of Mladen Ivanic, PDP President, said that nobody has a reason not to believe in the report, noting that it is disputable why nothing is said about crimes in BiH. He said: ‘If Srebrenica Report is to mark the beginning of something, which would result in raising the issue of crimes committed in the entire of BiH, than this is a good start.”

Elmir Jahic, SDA Vice President, said that: “The main remark is that proper term was not used for events which took place, which means that a genocide took place against Bosniaks in Srebrenica in July 1995.”

Safet Halilovic, Chairperson of the BiH Party Presidency, is convinced that a big step forward has been made, bearing in mind the so far approach RS authorities had towards this issue. He said: “It is important that all facts related to massacre in Srebrenica should be determined, and also that executors are identified.”

NN op-ed on Srebrenica report

Nezavisne Novine op-ed pg 7 ‘Demolishing power of silence’ by Tanja Topic – The author is writing about Srebrenica Commission report, commending actually its work and the final report. She notes that so far, all sides in former Yugoslavia states have been suffering from a syndrome of trying to identify war criminals in another but not its people and accordingly making crimes relative.

She emphasises a step forward has been made, but a little bit delayed. Also, she notes that two further steps including processing of those responsible should follow. She admitted that the society has to some extent amnestied itself from this crime, which does not mean the society should be freed of responsibility.

Delic formed El Mujahedeen, claims Jovicic

Nezavisne Novine cover and pg 3 ‘Rasim Delic ordered the establishment of the unit “El Mujahedeen”; Glas Srpske pg 2 ‘Delic ‘certified’ mujahedeens’ – NN got hold of an order issued and signed by Rasim Delic, the war time commander of the Army of BiH Republic, which he addressed to the Command of the 3rd Corps on 13 August 1993 and which saw the establishment of the unit of foreign volunteers called “El Mujahedeen”.

Delic demanded implementation of that order by 31 August 1993.

Slavko Jovicic, Vice Preisdnet of the RS Association of war inmates, said that this Association holds numerous documents and video-tapes concerning crimes committed by unit “El Mujahedeen”. He also said: “Carla del Ponte, ICTY Chief Prosecutor, during her visit to Banja Luka, said that she cannot ignore these facts.”

Srdjan Dizdarevic on possibility of arrest of war crime suspects by end of June

Dnevni list, pg 8, ‘BiH authorities know they will not join Partnership for Peace end of June’, not signed, carries Srdjan Dizdarevic, President of BiH Helsinki Board, who, commenting for Radio Free Europe on the possibility of arrest of war crime suspects by the end of June, says he does not believe such a capital thing could happen by then and expresses belief that the ruling structures in BiH are already familiar that BiH will not be admitted to PfP. As for the recent hurry of The Hague Tribunal, BiH, RS and SFOR to arrest the indictees, Dizdarevic says there are illogical ties about it since until 1998 representatives of the then foreign military troops had contacts with Radovan Karadzic and it is obvious that at the time and after that there was no political will to arrest him since some pragmatic, state reasons dominated. Dizdarevic finds the current intensive pressure which is to prove readiness of BiH for more radical changes, including the arrest of key war players, to be hypocrisy of the IC on one hand and a test for BiH’s authorities readiness to finally start reforms on the other hand.

Blic on property laws implementation in BiH

Blic, pgs. RS2-RS3 ‘Refugees do not live from deadlines’ by Rajna Radosavljevic and Nedeljka Breberina mentioned on cover ‘Implementation of property laws in BiH is reaching an end: Refugees do not live from deadlines’ – ‘A deadline for resolving all property return claims expires on June 30, and we will surely comply to it, which means that all Departments of our Ministry will finish evictions by mid this month’, the RS Minister for Refugees and DPs, Jasmin Samardzic, has stated. He has admitted that the percentage of real return of people to their pre-war houses is still below 30% in urban areas and even lower in rural areas. The Ministry claims that a large problem is a lack of money for alternative accommodations, because of which many refugees might end up out on streets again. The Coordination Board of RS Association of Refugees and DPs claims that the Ministry owes approximately 3 million KM for alternative accommodations. The President of Bijeljina Coordination Board of the Association, Veljko Stevanovic, has announced that the Association will request from RS Government to shut down the Ministry for Refugees and DPs because of its inefficient work.

Deputy Minister Kumalic on Law on public procurement

Dnevni List, pg 7 ‘Law on public procurement will eliminate corruption in BiH’, by Danka Polovina-Mandic – carries the BiH Deputy Minister of Finances and Treasury in BiH CoM, Jusuf Kumalic, as explaining some issues pertaining to the Law on public procurement of BiH, which will be soon discussed by the BiH Parliament in an urgent procedure. Kumalic says the law has three main goals, to establish a single economic space when it comes to public procurement in BiH, reduce corruption and improve efficiency in spending of public funds. He goes on to say that the law will apply on both the budget beneficiaries and whole public sector in BiH. “The law establishes the agency for public procurement, which is an independent administrative organization with a status of a legal entity. The seat will be in Sarajevo, with branches in Banja Luka and Mostar. Its task will be to enable the correct implementation of the law by issuing manuals, forms, providing technical assistance, giving advice and developing an electronic information system”, explains Kumalic.

DL on situation regarding transfer of Eronet shares

Dnevni List, pg 3 ‘Eronet in middle of private interests’, mentioned on cover, by M. Batarelo – notes that the Commission, which was formed at the 66th session of the FBiH Government and which was to evaluate the proposal of the HT Zagreb (Croatian telecommunications Zagreb) regarding transfer of HT Zagreb’s shares in Eronet onto HT Mostar (Croat telecommunications Mostar), gave a positive opinion regarding the HT Zagreb’s proposal. DL notes it is interesting that some Croat ministers in the FBiH Government, during the 66th session of the FBiH Government, were against the discussion regarding the HT Zagreb’s proposal. When it came to actual voting on the issue of appointment of the Commission, DL says the FBiH Deputy PM, Dragan Vrankic, abstained from voting, whilst the Justice Minister, Borjana Kristo, was against the proposal that representatives of HT Mostar be on the Commission.

Apparently, General Atif Dudakovic warned the FBiH President and FBiH Deputy Prime Minister, Niko Lozancic and Dragan Vrankic respectively, that even the prisoners in BiH prisons get more calories in their meals than soldiers in barracks. According to VL’s knowledge, representatives of FBiH authorities could not promise they would find funds to remedy the situation.

Vlatko Menix on funding of HRT Mostar

Vecernji List, pg 7 ‘We do not want to become semi-local TV’, by Tomislav Kvesic – carries an interview with the Director of HRT Mostar (Herzegovina TV), Vlatko Menix, who talks about the issues pertaining to financing of the HRT Mostar, which are seen as the main obstacle to adoption of the budget of City of Mostar. Menix says: “Mayor Hamdija Jahic and people like him would like to have the HRT in complete ownership of City of Mostar, but it is not possible in our case. We have been established by the municipalities with Croat majority and we are not a local, but a regional TV. However, we cover Mostar with our network, therefore it is a duty of the City of Mostar to participate in funding of HRT Mostar, and that should be a percentage that reflects the ratio of programming that would cover Mostar, meaning around 40%.”. Menix also says should the HRT Mostar be owned completely by the City of Mostar , that would mean that the Croat people would be deprived of an institution, which was established by the money of Croat taxpayers.

Democratic Party of RS warns of Islamic terrorists in Banja Luka

Vecernji List, pg 2 ‘Al-Qaeda branches in Banja Luka too’, by Branka Stevandic, Dnevni List, pg 17 ‘Islamic terrorist organizations in Banja Luka, Zvornik and Bijeljina’, by M. R. – Democratic Party of RS stated on Saturday that it had warned the RS Interior Minister, Zoran Djeric, that an Islamic terrorist organization was active in Banja Luka, and that it had information that similar organizations were also active in Bijeljina and Zvornik. The party also protests because no political party has supported the RS Prime Minister, Dragan Mikerevic, who recently received threats from an alleged Islamic terrorist organization. VL carries Mikerevic, as commenting the threats against him: “They all have problems not only with the name and territory of the RS, but also with what they had signed personally”.

DL calls for actions of BiH and IC regarding terrorism threats

Dnevni List, pg 2 ‘Al-Qaeda’s sleepers in BiH are waking up’, by Miso Relota – amid reports that speak of existence of Islamic terrorist organizations in BiH and subsequent reactions, the author argues it is the high time that the domestic intelligence and IC tackle the problem, “so we do not have New York and Madrid. Once the blood starts flowing, passions will be hard to stop”.

Mikerevic on El Jihad threats

Glas Srpske pg 2 ‘They will not break us’ – Dragan Mikerevic, RS Prime Minister, stated that no threat can stop the ongoing positive progress in Republika Srpska, stressing that RS is a more developed part of BiH. He said that threats, which have been recently addressed to him and RS, come from people and groups of people in RS, who still want to build the new society on primitivism, force and times, which is away behind us.

He also said he does not have much time to think about threats addressed to him by organisation “El Jihad” from Visoko.

Mektic on anti-terrorist activities in BiH

Glas Srpske pg 3 ‘Fear closes door’ – Dragan Mektic, BiH Deputy Minister of Security, told GS that the presence and activities of extreme Islamic groups and individuals in BiH, as well as their ties with the international terrorist organisations, has not been thoroughly investigated as yet. He says that this has resulted from the lack of will of the institutions in charge to tackle this issue. He also says that there are numerous evidence proving that the F BiH investigation institutions are not ready to more actively engage in the fight against terrorism. He says: “The BiH Coordination Team for the fight against terrorism has received numerous information regarding irregularities during allocation of citizenship to suspicious persons from Islamic states. However, these information have not been thoroughly investigated as yet.”

He explains that almost each request for investigation, which BiH Coordination Team addressed to F BiH institutions, faced numerous administrative obstacles.

He says that the lack of interest of F BiH institutions to investigate into these information lays in the fact that further investigation would result in questioning responsibility of some most senior officials in Federation of BiH.

Interview with RS Minister of Judiciary Filipovic

Nezavisne Novine, pg. 8 ‘RS judiciary on the path of independent judiciary’ – In an interview to NN, Saud Filipovic, RS Minister of Judiciary, expresses believe that the reform of RS judiciary and BiH judiciary would come to a full strength in the forthcoming year, as well as that the reduced number of judges would not influence the work of judiciary. Filipovic expresses his satisfaction with the selection of judges and prosecutors in RS, but he also thinks that the problem is that not all judges and prosecutors were appointed as yet. According to him, they have managed, with the assistance of RS Government and international community, to bring the judiciary to the path of an efficient and independent judiciary.

Commenting on a demand of some parties, which have asked for his resignation, Filipovic says: ‘I think they are wrong and I think a lot has been done regarding the RS judiciary. I have not come to this position to grow old and retire. I am doing this job 24 hours a day, fighting both to resolve the problem of detainees in jails and to resolve the problem of RS judiciary in general. A great problem is that our people expect to see results overnight and I understand them, but I also claim that a lot has been done despite to all problems the judiciary had faced’.
