Kiseljak

The indicted war criminal, Dominik Ilijasevic was arrested in Kiseljak, after the arrest warrant from the Canton Court in Zenica. Ilijasevic was accused of committing war crimes against civilians in Stupni Dol in 1993. IPTF observed the arrest, Hajrudin Durakovic confirmed.

Sarajevo

“The ICTY deferred the case to the Canton Court, after they had decided that there were enough proofs for serious violation of human rights by the accused”, said the Head of the UN Mission in B&H, Jacques Klein, talking about the arrest of Dominik Ilijasevic. Anes Alic produced the report.

Kiseljak

Today’s arrest of Dominik Ilijasevic disturbed citizens of Kiseljak. According to the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Srednjo-Bosanski Canton, Bare Prslja, Croatian officials in the Ministry were not informed about the arrest. Reported by Ana Drmac.

Bocinja

Refugees from Podrinje decided to give part of their properties to foreign citizens in Bocinja. Their leader, Abu Hamza accepted the offer. Municipal authorities in Maglaj made a new plan of evictions in Bocinja. According to the plan, everyone except owners of 7 houses will be evicted by 9th October. Refugees from Bocinja demanded that the evictions of foreign citizens take place as soon as possible. Mirna Sadikovic produced the report.

Sarajevo

B&H is the key transit country for immigrants from Asia to western Europe. According to the B&H Minister for human rights and refugees, Martin Raguz, the B&H Border Service is not able to cope with the problem at the moment. In the last month, the Croatian Government deported about 300 illegal immigrants back to B&H. B&H does not have enough money to send them back to their countries, Vedran Persic reported.

This evening’s guest of TV INFO was the Director of the International Migration Centre, Jonas Widgren. “B&H cannot solve the current problem with immigrants alone. The International Community has to help”, Mr. Widgren said. “Organisers of such migrations are probably from countries of the Middle East, and they gain enormous amounts of money in this way”, he added.

Sarajevo

The Chairman of the ICMP, Senator Bob Dole officially opened the Missing Persons Institute in Sarajevo. The US Ambassador, Thomas Miller read the letter from the US Secretary General, Madeline Albright at the inauguration. In the letter, Ms. Albright said that she was sorry because she did not attend today’s inauguration. Reported by Zeljka Lekic.

Mostar

The affair with the Head of the University of Mostar, Marko Tadic ended in today’s session of the Administrative Council. The Council and the Head of the University will propose replacement of Deans of all faculties. The Head of the University and members of the Council will also resign. Sarajevo

5 years have passed since the massacre in the “Markale” market in Sarajevo. 43 people died in the explosion of a shell, that was fired from positions of the Serb Army around Sarajevo. A tribute was paid to the victims today. The report was produced by Meliha Hasanbegovic.

Banja Luka

Representatives of the RS Association of Pensioners met the RS Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik today. Mr. Dodik supported pensioners’ request that the lowest pension should be in the amount of KM 80. The Prime Minister and pensioners will meet regularly on Mondays from now on. Reported by Nedeljka Breberina.

Janja/Zvornik

Municipality of Bijeljina purchased part of the land in Janja, which they will distribute to refugees who are in the most difficult situation. Returnees to villages cultivate land in order to survive. The situation is much more difficult in towns. In Zvornik, citizens of Yugoslavia work in most of refugees’ posts in local companies.
