High Representative Valentin Inzko welcomed the fact that BiH citizens took an active role in the democratic process, and exercised their right to vote on Sunday’s local elections.

The political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is challenging but the rewards for overcoming obstacles are great and the International Community is committed to helping citizens to overcome those obstacles, the High Representative Valentin Inzko said today.

This “referendum on the Day of the RS” has no legal basis as it is directly violating an order of the BiH Constitutional Court. It represents, therefore, a challenge to the BiH Constitutional Court, its decisions, the constitutional framework of the country, and the rule of law in BiH.
