The High Representative and EU Special Representative is in Brussels today to brief the Political and Security Committee – the PSC formulates European Security and Defence Policy – on the conclusions of the Peace Implementation Council meeting last week and on the political situation in BiH.

During the last two days Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council had an opportunity to exchange views on the situation in BiH among ourselves, with the BiH Presidency, Chairman of the Council of Ministers, his two deputies and the leaders of the 6 political parties that make up the governing coalition.

The Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) will meet in Brussels on Tuesday and Wednesday this week to assess Bosnia and Herzegovina’s progress in implementation of the Dayton-Paris peace accords and overall political situation in the county.

From media reporting over the past 12 days it is clear that a misunderstanding over a technical amendment in the text of the Dayton Peace Agreement made in 1996 persists.

The day after tomorrow, on Thursday, High Representative and EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajčak will initiate a public debate with BiH citizens on the process of European integration of this country.
