Reconstruction of houses in Polje
Mostar, 19 May 1999 OHR and UNHCR condemn the activities of local HDZ leaders in Mostar in their attempt, by ethnic discrimination, to halt the re-construction of Croat homes in Polje. We have been advised that the two Bosniac companies selected through the due tendering process are not to be allowed to carry out the work.

Mostar Press Release
The Office of the High Representative is appalled at reports of an attack on two Croatian journalists which took place yesterday, 7 May 1999 in west Mostar. Two journalists from the Rijeka daily Novi list say they were taken away from the Hotel Ero in town centre, brutally beaten and then ordered to leave the country under threat of death.

Common Driving License
Sarajevo, 29 April 1999 Today, Principal Deputy High Representative Jacques Paul Klein met with the Interior Ministers and their deputies of both Entities, as well as of all Cantons in the Federation, to discuss technical and implementation details of the new Common Driving License. Human Rights Chamber Decisions
Sarajevo, 29 April 1999 Among the conditions which Bosnia and Herzegovina must satisfy before it can become a member of the Council of Europe, one of the most important is that the Entities respect and implement the decisions of the Human Rights Chamber. The largest number of Chamber decisions so far, over 100, relate to military apartments.
