“Vote for a Better Life” – the High Representative and Steering Board on the upcoming elections

The High Representative, Wolfgang Petritsch, and the Steering Board have discussed the upcoming elections and the potential for a better future that they present for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s voters.

They wish to encourage all voters to cast their ballots. After nearly a decade of conflict and isolation, the peoples of Croatia and Yugoslavia have used their own elections to bring about change and the prospect of a better life. The International Community will help them to put in place the democratic and economic reforms they need for a prosperous future within European institutions.

If you, the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina follow this example, you will benefit the same way.

The polls show clearly what you want — jobs, not confrontation over narrow national interests.

The High Representative and the Steering Board appeal to the people of BiH to vote for leaders who will push economic reform, fight corruption at all levels and ensure the rule of law. This is the way of creating real jobs and attracting foreign investment.

They hope the citizens of BiH will vote for candidates, parties and leaders who are committed to the Dayton process, who will speed up democratic change in Bosnia and Herzegovina and lead this country away from the ethnic hatreds, poverty and isolation of the past, and toward a brighter future.
