The International Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Stands United

The International Community will work in a coordinated and effective way to help Bosnia and Herzegovina as it progresses on its European path, High Representative Valentin Inzko and the new OSCE BiH Head of Mission Fletcher M. Burton pledged today.

“I look forward to working together with the High Representative and our colleagues in the International Community. We will assist BiH in overcoming current and future challenges,” Ambassador Burton said. “I assured the High Representative of the OSCE Mission’s continued commitment to help ensure that this country can live up to the expectations of its citizens.”

At the meeting, High Representative Inzko and OSCE Head of Mission Burton discussed BiH’s state level institutions and necessary reforms which would strengthen the rule of law, modernise BiH’s education system and turn around the country’s flagging economy.

“The International Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina stands united and will continue to assist Bosnia and Herzegovina,” High Representative Inzko said. “Now it is time for the country’s political leaders to show their commitment to the present wellbeing and future prospects of this country, by forming a state government and getting to work.”
