Principal Deputy High Representative meets Presidency Member Radisic

This morning, the Principal Deputy High Representative, Ralph Johnson, met with Zivko Radisic, Member of the BiH Joint Presidency.

They discussed the upcoming selection of candidates for the new Council of Ministers. Ambassador Johnson urged Presidency Member Radisic to put forth highly qualified candidates who would strengthen the work of the joint institutions and improve cooperation between the State of BiH and the two Entities. In that regard, it is important that the candidates proposed by Mr Radisic enjoy the confidence and support of the RS Government and are at the same time committed to an efficiently functioning and productive Council of Ministers.

Ambassador Johnson underlined that this is a major opportunity for the Serb citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, since it has been agreed that a Serb would be given the position of Chairman of the new Council of Ministers. Whoever is nominated as Chairman should be someone who can provide effective leadership both within the Council of Ministers and on the larger Bosnian political scene as BiH undertakes the difficult task of economic and political reform.
