Open competition for appointments to posts for judges and prosecutors in the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the FBiH Supreme Court, the FBiH Prosecutor’s Office, the RS Constitutional Court, the RS Supreme Court and the Office of the RS Prosecutor will close on October 4th, 2002.
The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the HJPC of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the HJPC of the Republika Srpska announced these vacancies on August 22nd, 2002. The exact number of posts to be filled will be decided by the respective High Judicial and Prosecutorial Councils.
Further announcements of other judicial and prosecutorial posts will be made over the coming months.
The Independent Judicial Commission (IJC) has distributed the application materials to be used by applicants for judicial and prosecutorial office. These application materials will provide the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Councils (HJPCs) with comprehensive information relating to each candidate. The forms have been standardised so that they allow for complete transparency in the appointment process.
Application materials are available at the following locations:
- The Office of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Councils, Emerika Bluma 8, Sarajevo;
- The Ministry of Civil Affairs and Communications of Bosnia and Herzegovina;
- The Republika Srpska, Federation BiH and all Cantonal Ministries of Justice;
- All courts and prosecutor’s offices across the country
The materials will also be available on the IJC web page website at www.ohr.int/ijc
These application materials will provide the platform for a fair, transparent and independent process for the selection of judges and prosecutors, a key requirement for the creation of a professional, independent and impartial judiciary in BiH.
