At a meeting with President Plavsic, the Supervisor for Brcko, Robert Farrand, underlined that the RS Government seriously accepted its obligation to pay salaries for those citizens that will loose their jobs due to the implementation of a multiethnic administration in Brcko until other employment is found for them. He delivered an agreement to President Plavsic, signed with the mediation of the OHR, between representatives of the RS Government and the Syndicate. According to Farrand, Plavsic promised that the PM will sign this agreement before Monday, June 1st.

The main issue at today’s press conference of the RS Government was the forthcoming privatisation. Deputy PM of the RS, Djuradj Banjac, stated that the transfer of state capital into private ownership is the basic aim of privatisation, as well as the realisation of certain benefits for war invalids and families of killed and missing soldiers.

The 13th meeting of the Working Group for MPs, organised by the ICRC, was held in Trebinje today. Representatives of FRY, Republic of Croatia, BiH Federation and the host, RS, attended the meeting. At the request of the Families of MPs, the ICRC decided to visit locations in which some of the MPs are allegedly imprisoned and that these visits would be made unannounced

A delegation of RS MUP officials, led by Minister Milovan Stankovic, returned from a visit to Switzerland. During the visit the RS officials were in discussion with their counterparts in Switzerland on the possibility of implementing a system of Swiss police branch offices in bodies of the RS MUP.

The Head of the RS Army General Staff , General Momir Talic, stated in Doboj today that the RS Army was determined to implement the Dayton Agreement, but that the Agreement did not provide for any kind of united BiH Army, which would be unacceptable.

The new BiH passport was presented in Banja Luka today, in the presence of the Deputy PM and Minister for Civil Issues and Communications at the CoM, Spasoja Albijanic, and the Deputy HR, Hanns Schumacher. The total price for obtaining the passport, including all taxes, will not be more than 40 DM.
