The third part of the fifth RS NA session is in progress. Today the RS Parliament adopted a conclusion on delaying all evictions that are currently under way and postponing new eviction decisions until the use of abandoned property and the status of DPs and refugees are defined. This was proposed by Slobodan Cvijetic, a member of SRS RS.
The members of the Coalition for B&H walked out of the session due to non-acceptance of the draft amendment which referred to the introduction of the third RS NA Vice President, who should, according to the election results, be a member of the Coalition for B&H.
Commenting on this action, Sulejman Tihic, a member of the Coalition For B&H, stated that the election results were not fully implemented. “We call on the HR Carlos Westendorp and the OSCE to implement the election results in the RS NA in line with the rules and regulations set by the PEC.” The RS Government Deputy President, Ostoja Kremenovic, withdrew 12 laws and draft laws from the agenda. The RS Minister of Justice withdrew 2 agenda items, the SRS RS withdrew the agenda item on the main office of the RS NA.

The RS Prime Minister spoke today in Washington to Bryan Edmund, the US AID Director, about the assistance offered to the RS so far by this organisation, about funding and other reconstruction projects that US AID is planning to allocate to the RS by the end of this year.
The RS Prime Minister spoke to the U.S. Special Envoy for the Balkans, Robert Gelbard, about DA implementation. Mr. Gelbard supported the privatisation process in the RS.

The Vice Presidents of the RS Government, Ostoja Kremenovic, Djuradj Banjac and Tihomir Gligoric, the RS Defence Minister, Manojlo Milovanovic, and the RS Minister of DPs and Refugees, Miladin Dragicevic, met with the municipal authorities of Ribnik, Sipovo, Mrkonjic Grad, Prijedor and Serb Sanski Most and spoke about the recent exchange of villages Velecevo and Dubocani for Koprivna.

The session of the B&H Council of Ministers held in Serb Sarajevo today: The Law on privatisation was not discussed since the OHR had not presented the new text of the Law.
Discussing stand-by agreements, the CoM proposed the liquidation of the Narodna Banka of B&H. The CoM supported the Law on the Central Bank.

The Standing Committee for Military Matters met today in Sarajevo. The topics discussed were the possibilities for improving military cooperation between the Entities and the introduction of joint licence plates for military vehicles.

We have just been informed that the RS NA Speaker, Dragan Kalinic, has adjourned the fifth session of the RS NA, as he explained, due to lack of a quorum during the last agenda item. He has announced that the next session of the RS NA may take place in early June.

Simon Haselock, OHR spokesperson, stated at a press conference held in Sarajevo that the issuing of new passports would start the following week. According to the OHR spokesperson, the office for issuing of B&H passports would be open in Banjaluka on Friday the following week.
