A three-strong RS Government delegation headed by the PM Milorad Dodik met with unnamed FRY Government officials in Belgrade today to discuss the financial and monetary problems caused by the cessation of payment operations. The talks are to continue tomorrow.

The RS PM Milorad Dodik scheduled the 34th RS Government session for tomorrow. Drafts of the Amendments to the Law on Housing Relations and the cessation of the Law on Abandoned Property are on the agenda, as well as the decision on establishing an operational group for privatisation in Brcko. The Government’s consent for the increase in the price of electricity was cancelled, due to the difficult social situation.

The RS President Nikola Poplasen and the vice-president Mirko Sarovic visited the municipalities of the Central Podrinje region today.

The RS President and vice-president visited the town of Milici today, in a very tense atmosphere, due to a gathering of supporters of the dissolved Commissariat for Milici and the supporters of the newly elected municipal officials in the town centre. Poplasen had earlier dissolved the Commissariat, formerly set up by Biljana Plavsic, explaining this was the “expressed will of the people”.

At today’s press conference in Sarajevo, the OHR Spokesman Rida Attarashany said the HR Carlos Westendorp will submit a detailed analysis of the implementation of the DA to the Peace Implementation Council before the Madrid conference. The HR will propose reforms in the judicial system, media and economy, supporting the return of refugees and increase in foreign investments.
