Headlines

  • VJ and FRY Police are withdrawing from Kosovo. Together with the FRY Army and Police, Serbian refugees from Kosovo are continuing to flee from Kosovo;
  • Incidents in Kosovo;
  • Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said that Russian troops in Kosovo could not be under NATO command;
  • NATO soldiers lined cordons around three alleged mass graves in Kacanik where 91 bodies of ethnic Albanians were buried. These people were killed by Serbian paramilitary forces.-REUTERS; British Force Spokesman said that he expected the arrival of the Hague Tribunal investigators.- BBC
  • Slobodan Milosevic proclaimed the start of the renewal of the country on the bridge in Beska;
  • Djukanovic and Bulgarian leadership talks: Djukanovic statements on new democratic processes at the Balkans and Pact on stability for Southeastern Europe
  • All SRS (Serbian radical party) ministers in Serbian Government resigned and broke the coalition with JUL and SPS. “The only reason we (SRS) came into the coalition with SPS and JUL was preservation and defence of Kosovo and Metohija”, stressed Seselj.

FRY reactions

  • SRS: Nikola Poplasen attended the meeting of Radical party in Belgrade and said that this move of SRS would be commended by all Serbian patriots which means a majority of Serbian people;
  • DSS (Kostunica):The departure of SRS from the Government will not affect political life in FRY, saying that it will be very difficult for the SPS to call for national unity.
  • ND (Nova Demokratija): This move of SRS is nothing but “manoeuvre”;
  • DS (Slobodan Vuksanovic): The decision of SRS means nothing, just as their entry into it did not mean anything. Vuksanovic said that SRS’ call for war in the last ten years ended with columns of Serbian refugees from Bosnia, Krajina and now from Kosovo;
  • Vladan Batic, leader of the Christian Democrat party of Serbia and coordinator of the Alliance for Change (AFC) : ” If Draskovic replaces Seselj in the Government then he can also say goodbye to opposition. The difference between SPO and (AFC) is that SPO believes that Milosevic can become better and AFC doesn’t share that opinion”.

  • Dragan Kolundzija indicted for war crimes and arrested last week did not plead today before the Court in the Hague because his lawyer claimed that Kolundzija had nothing to do with Keraterm camp. The prosecutor said that the Tribunal had not made any mistake in the Kolundzija case;
