At the invitation of Greek deputies in the European Parliament, the RS President, Biljana Plavsic, today left for Greece for a few days. Plavsic was warmly welcomed at Athens Airport by senior Greek officials and representatives of a Greek “Caravan of Solidarity” that is the organiser of this visit. Plavsic expressed gratitude for Greek support and recalled a very successful and long-lasting cooperation between the RS and Greece during the war and in the post-war period. During her visit, Plavsic is to hold meetings with the Greek Parliament Speaker, President, Prime Minister, Head of Diplomacy and Archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Church.

Serb Patriarch Pavle held a holy liturgy at the traditional church gathering “Janjski sabor”. Several thousand Orthodox faithful attended the liturgy. The RS National Assembly Speaker, Dragan Kalinic, Deputy Prime Minister, Djuradj Banjac, and other distinguished guests were present at the traditional gathering. On this occasion, Patriarch Pavle again called upon all people to live in peace, harmony and love.

RS National Assembly Speaker, Dragan Kalinic, convened the RS National Assembly session, which is to be held in Banja Luka on Monday, June 15, starting at 10 a.m. Among 29 items on the agenda, the issue of the legitimacy of the RS National Assembly Presidency is also expected to be discussed at the 6th session of the RS Parliament which will, most probably, last for two days.

A delegation of the RS government led by the Deputy Prime Minister, Tihomir Gligoric, visited Serbs indicted for war crimes, who are detained in the Hague. Members of the RS Government have promised the detained Serbs that they will put their efforts into accelerating the procedures and the trial, as well as enabling their families to visit them.
