News Summary

Izetbegovic does not believe third entity will be formed in BiH

In an interview for Banja Luka’s Nezavisne Novine, BiH Presidency Member Alija Izetbegovic stated that he does not believe a third entity will be formed in BiH. He did not exclude the possibility of cantonization throughout BiH. “I believe that the Dayton Agreement will be revised in time, meaning Annex 4 and the BiH Constitution” said Izetbegovic. He concluded that the BiH Constitution would change when all accept BiH as their own state.

Association of Serb Refugees from Croatia holds press conference

The Association of Serb Refugees from Croatia held a press conference in Banja Luka, where they stated that Serb refugees voting in the Croatian presidential and parliamentary elections would mean legitimizing the electoral and constitutional authorities of Croatia, which discriminate against the 600,000 Serb refugees and the 180,000 remaining in Croatia. Association President Petar Dzodan said that, according to the Croatian Election Law, Serbs from Croatia have been brought down to the status of national minority. Serbs would be given the right to elect only one representative to a Croatian Parliament of 140 representatives. They would not be able to realize their right to vote, because they are deprived of citizenship, stated Dzodan. The Association will not acknowledge the elections in Croatia.
