Sarovic meets with Barry in Lukavica

The Vice-president of the RS Mirko Sarovic met with Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH Robert Barry in Lukavica where they discussed the RS presidential crisis. Barry stated that they agreed Sarovic and the Sloga Coalition should resolve the issues on the functioning of the RS Presidential institution through dialogue. The IC wants all solutions in this case to be achieved through dialogue, said Barry and added that concrete solutions for this issue would not be expected soon. “Maybe, the presidential crisis will not be solved before new presidential elections” stated Barry in response to a question from journalists. “That situation depends upon discussion between Sarovic and the Sloga Coalition and it is not only discussion about the presidential function rather discussion about possible restructuring of the RS Government” concluded Barry. Sarovic and Barry also discussed the new IC priorities in peace implementation in BiH.

During his visit with RS Prime Minister Dodik, SPO President Vuk Draskovic said that the regime of Slobodan Milosevic is a burden to the RS. Dodik said that the RS will not cooperate in any manner with the ruling Milosevic-Seselj regime, which includes establishing financial transactions with Serbia under the current leadership. Draskovic stated that the SPO party has the same goals as the Alliance for Change but that their methods are different, the SPO favors holding elections first and subsequently removing Milosevic from office, while the Alliance advocates Milosevic’s removal prior to elections.
