News Summary

SPRS withdraws from Sloga Coalition

The decision (to withdraw from the Sloga Coalition) was brought at the SPRS Main Board session this weekend. In a statement from the SPRS Main Board, it is said that the behavior of coalition partners, especially unprincipled decisions by the Prime Minister, had disabled the further work and participation of this party in the Sloga Coalition. In accordance with the SPRS Statute, the Main Board asked SPRS Ministers in the RS Government to return their mandates until a final decision is made. The Main Board stated with regret that SPRS efforts to preserve the coalition and implementation of Sloga projects were not supported by their coalition partners. The Prime Minister holds the most responsibility for the condition of the coalition, the decision of the Main Board and the possible consequences. The Main Board decided that the SPRS would exercise its parliamentary functions and participation in authority institutions and would not enter other coalitions. In its overall practice, the SPRS will plead for the principles on which Sloga was created and, above all, implementation of the Dayton Agreement.

RS Prime Minister Cabinet statement on SPRS Main Board decision

“The SPRS Main Board decision is directed at destabilising the government and the Sloga Coalition” reads a statement issued by the Cabinet of the Deputy RS Prime Minister. Socialist claims that responsibility for the situation in the coalition lies with its coalition partners and Prime Minister Dodik are directed at personal defacement of the Prime Minister and destabilisation of the Government and the conclusion that SPRS ministers are to return their mandates supports this. The SPRS Main Board is trying to transfer party problems to the Sloga Coalition and the RS as a whole.

In that way, they hide their intention to overthrow the government, which is the aim of destructive forces in and out of BiH. The Main Board statement claims that coalition partners have not seriously supported supposed efforts of the SPRS to preserve the Sloga Coalition are aimed at deceiving SPRS members. “Part of the SPRS leadership has been systematically destroying the Sloga Coalition for months, which led to the recent dismissals” reads the statement.
