Dodik statement on Karadzic for French newspaper Figaro

RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik gave an interview to French newspaper Le Figaro. Dodik stated that it is possible that former RS President Radovan Karadzic, indicted by the ICTY for war crimes, is hiding in Serbia. Dodik added that Karadzic is hiding well and it is logical to think that Karadzic is hiding in Serbia because he is in the same position as Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic. “Karadzic should give himself up to the ICTY, because citizens of the RS have problems in their relations with the IC because of his case” considered Dodik. “Karadzic must give himself up to the ICTY because the ICTY brought an indictment against him for war crimes. Even if the indictment is unjust, it can only be resolved in The Hague” added Dodik. Dodik believes that nationalistic parties caused the tragedy in BiH and that nationalistic leaders must leave authority structures. Nationalistic leaders, named Tudjman, Milosevic and Izetbegovic, used weapons, and that is their mistake. Dodik believes that the IC did not need to recognize the independence of BiH, because they knew that all Serb nations were against BiH independence. “Karadzic did not know how to agree with the IC and permitted para-military forces to commit war crimes, that is his mistake” stated Dodik. Le Figaro asked Dodik to explain the very difficult position of the Serb nation. “Croat, Muslim and Albanian nationalism is responsible for the current difficult situation of the Serb nation, but Milosevic is the main bearer of guilt for the misfortune of Serbs” said Dodik. “In the beginning, Milosevic did not understand that the West did not have anything against Serbs and that he needed to cooperate with traditional Serb friends, the UK and France, then we would not have had war in Yugoslavia or the one million Serb refugees.”
