Radisic, Djokic and Dodik meet with Barry

BiH Presidency Co-chairman Zivko Radisic and OSCE Head of Mission Robert Barry discussed preparations for the local elections in BiH and new Election Law. Barry pointed to the open list system of voting, where candidates’ names would appear on the ballots. He added that the success of political parties would depend on their candidates. Barry believes that the new Election Law provides a balanced political system in BiH and fully adheres to the Dayton Agreement, which is something that gives a great deal of authority to the entities themselves. Radisic said that the RS is going to do everything it can to ensure organized and successful elections. Barry also met with RS National Assembly Speaker Petar Djokic. Djokic pointed to the functioning of the RS constitutional and legal system. He also emphasized the stable functioning of the entity and joint BiH institutions, which is a prerequisite for BiH to join European integration. Barry also met with RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik, but gave no statements.
