Celebration of Haloween in the Macedonian Emmigrants’ Club in Goeteburg ended in the death of 64 teenagers. The discotheque in the Club was set on fire – at the time when the fire broke out, several hundred teenagers were inside. 190 are now in hospital.

At a session in Travnik, the Federal Privatisation Agency’s Steering Board proposed the values of certificates reflecting citizens’ claims. The Board reached a decision to present the Federal Government with two versions of the value of the privatisation certificates. The value of the general certificate for the privatisation is suggested to amount to either 21.19 or 25 KM. Massive privatisation, based on the certificates, should be fully conducted in two year’s time.

SDA’s Executive Board discussed the distribution of top seats in BH municipalities following the general elections. At its yesterday’s session, the Board expressed support to the majority of candidates. Only in the Tuzla-Podrinje Canton, the seat of was not agreed on, since neither of the two candidates Governor (Sead Jamakosmanovic and Tarik Arapcic) gained a majority of votes.

RS Parliament inaugural session adjourned this morning at 1 AM, following an ‘unsuccessful’ discussion on the appointment of its new leadership. The session will resume on November 4. President Izetbegovic and the HR also discussed the difficulties in the naming of the new RS Parliament administration. Izetbegovic reiterated that “even Dodik’s government, which had the support of the KCD, failed to implement their promises”. “During the seven and a half hours break, the parliamentary parties’ representatives debated how to distribute the posts of the Speaker, two Deputy Speakers, Secretary General and the Secretary’s Deputies among themselves”, TV BiH said and commented that “unusually strong pressure was put by the IC and the Sloga Coalition on the KCD” to give up the post of the Deputy Speaker, the post “which the Coalition had in the previous mandate, and still have the right on, according to the election results”. Followed a selection of reactions to the session – the outgoing Parliament Speaker Petar Djokic expressed concern over the fact that the Parliament was not inaugurated; Radicals accused the Sloga Coalition of preventing the vote; RS Socialists said that this was due to egoism of some deputies. KCD said that the party will keep demanding the seat of the Deputy and will not support an ultra-nationalist mandator, but only a moderate.

Bosnian Social Democrats requested an immediate establihsment of legislative bodies at all levels in BiH. The party also said that the representatives of 13 opposition parties in the Federal Parliament agreed to jointly nominate a candidate of Croat nationality for the post of the HoR Deputy Speaker.

In an open letter to the HR Principal Deputy Klein, NHI pointed at the HDZ’s attempt to remove the head of the Ravne-Brcko municipality, Mijo Anic, and President of the Brcko-Ravne municipal council Mato Juric from their posts. The letter pleaded at Klein to prevent the replacement.

Ambassador Farrand reacted to recent Borko Reljic’s decision to include Brcko into the alliance of municipalities and towns in RS. The Ambassador told a press conference that the assembly of Brcko had to approve of this, but that this was not the case. “Reljic did not have a mandate to reach such a decision”, TV BiH quoted the Ambassador.

Dodik’s office accepted Milovan Stankovic’s resignation and appointed Srebren Novic for the new RS Interior Minister. Milan Trbojevic also replaced Petko Cancar on the post of the RS Justice Minister.
