News Summary

All IC criticisms on sale of hotel Holiday Inn unfounded – Bicakcic

BiH Federation Prime Minister Edhem Bicakcic reacted to the allegations of certain IC officials concerning the sale of the hotel Holiday Inn in Sarajevo. Bicakcic, in a statement reported by ONASA, said that the background to all the criticisms was unfounded and might be pre-election propaganda. Bicakcic added that all those carrying out the privatization process had agreed to a set of laws and therefore agreed to the sale of hotel facilities in the small-scale segment of the privatization process. Bicakcic stated that the new owners of the Holiday Inn, Nedim Causevic and Sead Kurtagic had made a good job of it. Commenting on the certificates’ issue, Bicakcic stated that current legislation could not prevent the sale of certificates by their owners (for sums well below their nominal face value), especially in the phase of small-scale privatization.
