Swiss Airplane New York – Geneva crashed with 229 passengers, near Canadian coast. None of the passengers survived the crash, and pilots reported smoke in the cockpit just before the crash.

Federation Parliament House of People held a session, but failed to adopt the Law on Employment and the Law on Rights of Veterans. The session was cancelled due to the lack of quorum.

BiH Council of Ministers held a session in Lukavica. CoM failed to adopt anything from the agenda due to volume of material. One of the items one the agenda, proposed by OHR, was also appointment of the management board for co-ordination of post-offices between BiH Federation and the RS.

Negotiations between BiH and Croatian delegation on the Ploce Harbour and free transfer through Neum continued. BiH delegation is led by the Minister for Foreign Trade, Kurtovic, and head of Croatian delegation is Minister for Economy, Porges. HR Senior deputy Klein was also present at the meeting. First part of the meeting was finished this evening, and US Special Envoy, Sclar said that “progress was achieved” without further explanation.

Fighting in Kosovo continued. Serbian forces are progressing near Albanian border, while the Kosovo Liberation Army returns strong resistance. Humanitarian situation worsens.

US Ambassador Kauzlarich visited Mostar today, where he met with city and canton officials, discussing the refugee return process. Kauzlarich said that the return process will be one of US Government priorities. Answering the question about the standpoint of the US Government regarding the Serb returns to Mostar, Kauzlarich said these are very god news that refute some statements of RS political leaders, who say that Serbs do not want to return to the Federation.

Electrification works in Travnik were finished today, while 8 new projects of infrastructure repairs were started. The projects cover Central Bosnia and Zenica/Doboj Cantons. Presidency member Zubak was also present at the occasion as well as representatives of authorities from Croat people.

Conference on future reconstruction and development in the Sarajevo canton began today in Sarajevo. The period up to the year 2015 is being considered, as well as refugee return to Sarajevo and the Sarajevo Declaration.

Croatian General Consulate in Bihac announced that one sixth of Bihac citizens have Croatian citizenship. It was said that citizenship is being issued to citizens who have any proof that they once declared themselves to be Croats before the war. It was also said that many of them are Una/Sana canton officials, and customs and or police officials.
