The Agreement on Special Relations between BiH and Croatia was initialised today in Zagreb. The agreement was signed by Kasim Trnka, Federation Vice President Vladimir Soljic, Croatian FA Minister Granic, President Tudjman’s advisor Ivic Pasalic and HR deputy Klein. The contents of the agreement will be published tomorrow.

Session of the BiH Presidency was held today in Sarajevo. One of the main issues was the upcoming Peace Implementation Council session in Madrid and BiH entry to the European Council. Soon after the Presidency session, the Standing Military Committee held a meeting, discussing the Protocol about flights of entity military air-crafts over the inter-entity borderline. Ante Jelavic demanded that HR Westendorp’s letter on replacement of HVO Generals Softa and Rasic should also be discussed. The PMC said that such action from the HR interferes with constitution and legal system of BiH and entities.

Presidency member Izetbegovic met with UK Minister of Defence, Robertson. Main subject of the discussion was refugee return and Izetbegovic also asked Robertson to animate the European financial support for return and reconstruction.

NATO deadline to Milosevic expires tonight at 20:00. About 4000 policemen withdrawn from Kosovo and withdrawal should have continued today. The NATO session was still in progress and Solana’s press conference was expected. (BiH TV also published complete letter of US Sentaor Bob Doll, in which he criticises NATO for the lack of determination regarding the Kosovo crisis)

The Paris Club of Creditors offered two variants for resolving the BiH debt. Canada, Finland, Germany, Sweden and USA offered 67% of debt to be revoked, while Belgium, Japan, Austria and France variant is to cancel the complete debt.

Delegates of the Herzegovina/Neretva Canton Assembly elected the Governor and Vice Governor of the Canton. The new Governor is Hamo Maslesa from Konjic, and Vice Governor, Rade Bosnjak from Mostar.

Constitutive session of the Central Bosnia Canton Assembly was held today in Travnik. The delegates in the assembly elected Zoran Maric for the chairman of the assembly and Ejug Mujic as his deputy.

Deputy High Representative for Reconstruction and Return Andy Bearpark visited Travnik today, along with Federation Co-president Ganic, meeting with Cantonal and municipalities officials. Bearpark said that a great progress was achieved in this canton and that it could become a model for what is suppose to take place throughout BiH.
