New fighting and new victims were recorded in Kosovo. According to Albanian sources, it is supposed that number of killed Albanians in northern parts of Kosovo is increasing, but cannot be precisely determined due to presence of strong Serbian forces and thick fog. Albanians demanded NATO to prevent the aggression, for ethnic cleansing is evident in the province. It was also reported that the Serbian police armed citizens of Podujevo. OSCE Verification Mission is in the field, but can monitor the situation only from the distance.

Reuters reported that German Defence Minister Sharping expressed his hopes that Bosnian Serbs war-leaders Karadzic and Mladic, who he called war criminals, will be arrested next year to stand the trial before the Hague Tribunal.

SDP BiH President Lagumdzija was authorised by the SDP Main Board to sign the Principles and Methods of Uniting the SDP and Social Democrats of BiH, along with SD BiH representative. Signing of the protocol on uniting was scheduled for tomorrow in Tuzla. SPD Main Board Chairman, Djapo said that SDP President Lagumdzija and BiH Social Democrats President Beslagic are to sign the protocol tomorrow and that this would conclude all key issues regarding uniting of these two parties.

The agreement on the RS police reconstruction and democratisation, signed in Banja Luka in early December, by RS President Poplasen and UN Special Envoy Rehn, will enable that one quarter of 8.500 policemen in the RS will be Bosniaks and Croats. According to the infromation published in media in the RS and the BiH Federation, Banja Luka Police issued the job advertisement, offering 21 police posts for Bosniaks and Croats. The advertisement also covers Prijedor and Zvornik where 8 non-Serb policemen are needed.
