The new evidence of crimes in Kosovo emerge with discoveries of mass graves, TV BiH reported. New mass graves with hundreds of bodies are being discovered in the province daily. KFOR troops report on destroyed and burned houses, mass graves and other evidence of atrocities. Two British soldiers died attempting to clear a school of unexploded ordinances. TV BiH also reported that scores of Albanians are returning to Kosovo as well as some Serbs.

BiH managers held a forum in Sarajevo where they accused politicians and politics in BiH for the problems in economy, TV BiH reported. With the Pact on Stability in southeastern Europe signed and Kosovo peace agreement reached conditions are set for stability of peace in the Balkans and economic revival of countries in the region, TV said. It is clear that Bosnia has a great chance to join European integration process and this was the main reason for the meeting of BiH managers, both from the Federation and the RS. The meeting was sponsored by Federation and RS Prime Ministers, Edhem Bicakcic and Milorad Dodik and this was the first meeting of federal and RS businessmen to discuss current economy issues in BiH, TV said. It was proposed at the meeting that a BiH Chamber for Foreign Trade be established and this proposal will be passed to the BiH Council of Ministers. The Chamber will be a non-governmental organization of BiH companies and banks.

First public statements on corruption in BiH initiated various reactions, TV said. James Fergusson, OHR spokesman said that the High Representative does not share the optimism of Bosniak member of BiH Presidency, Alija Izetbegovic who said that corruption in BiH is under control. Fergusson added that Izetbegovic’s statements show that he recognizes that the problem is serious and that he is prepared to tackle corruption and is doing so, TV said. Fergusson said that hundreds of millions of German Marks are lost to corruption and that corruption is not just a Bosniak problem but is spread throughout BiH.

Federation prosecutors are asking for OHR’s assistance, TV said. Federation association of prosecutors has accepted an ethical codex. This was initiated by the demand for replacement of canton and municipal prosecutors in the Tuzla canton, TV said. In order to overcome all the problems, the association has asked for a meeting between their representative and the OHR which is to clear all problems related legal obligations and work of prosecutors, TV BiH reported .

Sarajevo policemen have started a battle with crime and have no intentions to stop, TV quoted police officials as saying. They will do their job without private wars and private lists, they will only protect citizens. Sarajevo canton police issued a statement saying that some of the cases, especially for some citizens, are delayed for no reason. Some of these persons are not arrested according to the law and this shows that all the citizens are not equally treated by the law, that some are privileged. Sanctions against these persons are not adequate and are not useful because persons indicted are walking free, the police statement said.

At a meeting of the joint Consultative Commision and the Commision for Regional stability held in Vienna the work of BiH entity armies was reviewed, TV said. Deputy head of OSCE mission to Bosnia, General Bjorn Carlson told a press conference in Sarajevo that representatives of all three BiH nations presented information of foreign investments in the entity armies. While the Bosniak side submitted complete information, RS officials promised to do the same by June 25th, Carlson said according to TV BiH. The Croat side admitted that HVO, the Croat component of the Federation army is financed from abroad but did not disclose any details, TV said.

OHR will be forced to instruct donors to avoid investing their money in Zepce if SDA does not change its position regarding the agreement on Zepce, James Fergusson, OHR spokesman told a news conference, TV BiH reported. Fergusson reminded that Deputy High Representative Jacques Klein invited on May 12th representatives of all sides in Zepce to sign the agreement and that SDA at the last moment changed their minds and refused to sign the agreement.
