Sporadic fighting continued in Kosovo, despite NATO‘s deadline. According to information from the field, there is no indication of withdrawing Serbian troops or improvement of humanitarian situation. Mortar shelling continued in four villages of Malisevo municipality, as well as in Drenica and borderline zone with Albania. If FRY President Milosevic does not comply with the agreement, the military action will begin next week US Special Envoy Hoolbroke said.

Forensic experts’ team in Tuzla is working under very difficult conditions on identification of 274 victims from the Glumina mass grave. The main problem is insufficient space for depositing of remains, which current number in Tuzla is 1800.

HR Senior Deputy Ambassador Schumacher visited Mostar today, and met with HN Canton Governor Obradovic and Vice Governor, Leho, discussing the current situation in this canton. Ambassador Schumacher visited the settlement of Sutina and Polje where emptying of Croat houses began several days ago.

International organisations held a presser in Mostar, discussing the issues of return to HN Canton. It was said that return to this canton continues and UNHCR representative said that 15 Serbs returned to Mostar municipality and 9 to Capljina municipality. According to OHR spokesman Raily, the international community has information on Bosniaks’ successful move from Croat houses to the transit settlement “Bafo”.

BiH Independent Trade Unions Association demanded that eviction of people must immediately stop, says the protest letter sent to HR Westendorp, Sarajevo Canton Governor Haracic and president of the Steering Board for the Implementation of the Sarajevo Declaration Hajric. The letter says: “If you truly want everybody to return to their own, do your utmost to make the return two-way, and simultaneous to all areas of BiH. While you are demanding return to Sarajevo only, houses in Stolac are being bombed, returnees are being killed in Tasovcici, and in Banja Luka, they are expelling the dead. Mr. Westendorp, stop this! Free return to Sarajevo will become real if it is accorded with return of 74.000 of expellees presently accommodated in Sarajevo.”

The SDP imposed a question to Croatia Premier Matesa, is US Ambassador to Zagreb, Montgomery’s claim true, when he says that 75 – 100 million DEM is being allocated annually from Croatian budget for financing the HVO in BiH. As reported by BiH Press, Matesa did not confirm or deny this claim, but he said it is precisely known where every Kuna was spent. Matesa also criticised US Ambassador for interfering in internal affairs of a sovereign country.

RS Government held a session in Banja Luka, and adopted the regulation book for organisation and systematisation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to this regulation book, the RS police will have 8.500 employees. According to the RS Premier Dodik, 217 currently employed policemen are non-Serb nationality, and that MUP is employing people by their qualification and not nationality.
