News Summary
Publication of Tudjman’s secret documents on crimes in Ahmici proves aggression on BiH
Tihomir Blaskic’s lawyer Ante Nobilo confirmed receipt of a secret document from the Croatian President Stipe Mesic. The document proves that the former Croatian leadership knew the real truth behind the crimes in Ahmici. Zagreb daily Jutarnji List claims that Mesic gave this document to Nobilo and that five perpetrators of crimes against Bosniaks in Ahmici received new identities from the Croatian Interior Ministry to ensure a safe existence free of prosecution. Nobilo claims to know these people, saying he even met some during a 1993 investigation. He believes that it would have been better for the document to be presented to the ICTY prosecutor before its release in Croatian media. Blaskic also believes that these documents can influence his case, since they contain detailed descriptions of the crimes in Ahmici, the names of five perpetrators and transcribed conversations between the late Franjo Tudjman and his closest associates. No one in Croatia seems to be wondering how much these documents can alleviate Blaskic’s 45-year prison sentence.

BH Press and HABENA announce coalition between HDZ and SDA
BH Press and HABENA news agencies reported that the SDA and HDZ BiH reached an informal agreement on constituting the structure of municipalities in which they share authority. Let us say that such a coalition has never been mention because it was inconceivable. The only person that replied to our invitation to comment on the issue was SDA Vice-president Sulejman Tihic. The others seem to have developed amnesia. “The HDZ is a party without which it is hard to establish rule in the BiH Federation, especially in mixed cantons or those with Croat predominance” said Tihic. “Therefore, the SDA is engaging in certain agreements, formal and informal, necessary agreements, with, among others, the HDZ. Should we not enter an alliance with the HDZ, it would be impossible to implement election results.” He denied that the relationship is a coalition, saying that a coalition demands much more. Tihic said that the SDA, meaning the CD Coalition, will enter such an alliance with the HDZ in HN and Central Bosnia Cantons for a total of some 24 municipalities.
