News Summary

Banjac accuses Croat and Bosniak delegates of avoiding adoption of Election Law

“Bosniak and Croat representatives purposely refused to adopt the draft of the Permanent Election Law” stated Speaker of the BiH Parliament Mirko Banjac. “Their attitude towards the RS was clearly visible. Why do OHR representatives not react to these obstructions? Could it be because of double standards?”

Procedure to replace 22 officials continues

Following the dismissal of 22 BiH officials by High Representative Wolfgang Petritsch, the replacement procedure continues. According to OHR spokesperson Avis Benes, “new appointments in HN Canton have not be made simply because the OHR and OSCE have not had the time to consider the proposed replacements.” Wednesday is the deadline for the dismissed officials to leave their offices and Benes expects their successors to be appointed by the end of the month.
