2,000 former coal mine workers ask to return to work

More than 2000 former Ljubija coal mine workers, mainly Bosniaks and Croats, asked authorities to enable their return to Ljubija and resume their jobs. Speaking on behalf of the coal-miners, BiH Trade Union President Sulejman Hrle stated that they want to finally return to their coal-mine, where they worked all their lives, in a dignified and legal manner. “They unanimously decided to address both a protest and request to High Representative Wolfgang Petritsch, RS authority bodies and the Ljubija coal mine management to abolish the employment termination document that says they are illegal” Hrle underlined. The coal miners expressed their determination to return to Ljubija, to live and to work there.
