NATO Secretary General Solana and NATO Commander for Europe, General Clark visited BiH today. Solana and Clark visited special SFOR unit MSU, met with OSCE head, Barry, and held meetings with BiH Presidency President and Presidency members. Main issues of these meetings were the upcoming elections and processes expected to take place after the elections. Both, Solana and Clark expressed their satisfaction regarding preparations for the elections and said that Kosovo crisis will not have the influence on elections in BiH.

USA delegation, led by US Special Envoy Gelbard will also monitor the elections. The delegation arrived to BiH today, and will visit several polling stations in BiH during the elections period, and will also hold meetings with local authorities and political parties representatives.

OSCE spokeswoman Schultz refuted the information of Croatian media that all BiH citizens can vote on the elections and said that only those who registered in the last year’s elections or in 1998 will have the possibility to vote.

Media Centre was opened in Mostar today. The Centre will collect information on the election during the next two days. OSCE regional head, Foley opened the centre and said that elections will be fair and that all votes will be carefully counted. Foley also announced visit of the High Representative Westendorp to Mostar tomorrow.

OHR, OSCE, UNHCR, EU and SFOR spokesmen appealed on BiH citizens to vote and stressed the importance voting of all citizens at the elections, because that is the only way for them to decide who will lead them.

FRY polling stations for voting of BiH Refugees are ready for the elections. About 86.000 refugees from BiH are listed for voting at the elections. Foreign representatives will also be present in all 73 polling stations.

885 Albanians were killed in Kosovo since the beginning of conflicts, while about 600 are considered missing, Kosovo Human Rights Office said. The International Community still makes efforts in order to organise negotiations between Serbian authorities and Kosovo Albanians.
