Sarajevo – Shaik Hamad Bin Khalif Al Thani, Emir of Qatar was received in Sarajevo today with the highest honours. This return, friendly visit of the Qatari Emir to BiH focused on the signing of the Agreement on Bilateral Co-operation. The visit passed without many details for the media. The highest state and Federal Representatives were waiting for their guest at Sarajevo Airport. He met with the Presidency Chairman Alija Izetbegovic in Konak and later in the day with the three Presidency members in the Museum. Bilateral Agreement of the financial and economic Defence as well as on Promotion of the joint investments was signed on the Ministerial level. Emir of Qatar came to visit all peoples in BiH, Ademir Kenovic, President Izetbegovic Spokesman told the press.

Haris Silajdzic, CoM Co-Chair received Shaih Naser Al Sead, General Director of the High Saudi Committee of Regional Office for Europe. Their talks focused on preparations for the International Conference on Investments in BiH.

Kresimir Zubak, BiH Presidency member received Principal Deputy HR Jacques Paul Klein. They discussed the current situation in BiH and the region, implementation of the DPA as well as the Sarajevo Protocol which foresees the multi-ethnic organisation of the town.

Charles Crawford, UK Ambassador to BiH, handed over to Jadranko Prlic, BiH Foreign Minister, the EU Declaration on BiH which will be most probably accepted at the next EU Council for the General Affairs meeting in Luxembourg.

Edhem Bicakcic, BiH Federation Prime Minister along with Minister Rasim Kadic received representatives of the Srebrenica Municipality. Their talks focused on the improvement of the working possibilities of the Municipality of Srebrenica, marking the anniversary of Srebrenica tragedy, implementation of the election results and the current problems of displaced Srebrenica people (their education problems, health care, employment, etc.)

There followed international news which covered the Pakistan nuclear tests carried out in response to the previous Indian nuclear tests. Alija Izetbegovic received a letter from the Atali Bihari, Indian Government President in which he informs Izetbegovic of the recently carried nuclear tests which should add to the peace strengthening in the region, BiH Press informs quoting the statement from Izetbegovic’s Office. A day earlier Izetbegovic received a letter from the Pakistan Prime Minister condemning the Indian tests as the factor of balance disturbing.
