Sarajevo – (Union of the BiH Social Democrats) The UBSD has decided at its Congress today to change the name to The Social Democrats of BiH. The inviolable leadership of Selim Beslagic has been confirmed as the head of the Party. Sejfudin Tokic was chosen as President of the Main Party’s Council. The Congress has chosen deputy Chairmen from the Bosniak, Croat and Serb people as well as women. Selim Beslagic pointed out that this Party is a follower and the legal heir of Ante Markovi’s Reformat Party. He described the party’s program and membership as an authentic evidence for all people in BiH that they can live together. The aim of our party was and will be a struggle for: A unified BiH, a secular BiH, for social justice, democracy and maximum defence of the human rights, Beslagic said in his speech.

There were many discussions about possible unification of the BiH Social Democrats and the SDP. Tuzla – A problem of accommodating refugees who cannot return to their own houses, is evident in all parts of the Federation. The Cantonal sessions lately spend most of their time discussing this problem. The provisional housing contracts for seven thousand, five hundred refugees are expiring in Tuzla in this year, while around 17 thousand refugees from Bijeljina municipality living in Germany, are returning. More and more Serbs are announcing return to their homes in Tuzla. This problem could partly be solved if refugees from other cantons and municipalities, would leave houses and flats where they now live and go back to their homes which have been for a long time repaired. Instead of returning to their own houses, half of them are occupying apartments which belong to some body else.
