Sarajevo – At the continued session of the BiH Parliament HoR, no agreement on the laws on passport, citizenship, and the CoM was achieved.

Sarajevo – Presidency member Zubak received a visit of the SFOR Operative Commander deputy, Pike. The matter of the current situation in BiH and the BiH Federation was discussed.

CoM Co-chairman Silajdzic received a visit of the Turkish Ambassador to BiH, Gorkay. The matter of today’s meeting of PIC in Paris was discussed. Silajdzic asked Gorkay and his country, as a member of PIC, to express serious reserves regarding the draft of the final document for the Bonn conference. Silajdzic said that according to this draft, BiH is more a union than a state, which is unacceptable.

Silajdzic also received delegation of enterprises, banks, and the Chamber of Commerce. The delegation representatives expressed great concern for the implementation of DPA, and documents for the meeting in Bonn. The delegation asked Silajdzic to demand from the IC to bring decisions in accordance with the DPA about the unique market.

BiH FA Minister Prlic signed the Agreement on land-mines prohibition. The Convention will become valid after it has been verified by at least 40 states by the end of 1998.

BiH FA deputy, Zivalj talked to the US Embassy Political Advisor Doccolo, about the preparations for the PIC meeting in Bonn and the return of refugees.

At the press briefing of the international organisation, it was confirmed that the return of 45.000 persons was planned for the Middle Bosnian Canton.

Una/Sana Canton – German Co-ordinator for the Return, Schlee visited Una/Sana Canton. Schlee expressed his satisfaction with the conversations, and said that the realisation of certain minor projects is to be expected by the middle of the next year.

Sarajevo – UN Special envoy Eide said that one of the most important matters for the DPA implementation, beside of remaining of troops, is the police reconstruction. In the Federation.

Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs held a meeting with the presence of IPTF representatives, discussing the matters of the Federation police reconstruction, and establishment of police academy. Federal IA Minister, Zilic said that it was agreed to establish the canton police in four remained cantons, and to establish the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs, by December 20. IA Minister deputy, Leotar said that many things are expected to be solved at the Bonn Conference.

Sarajevo – Today, the first commercial bus in the post-war period, went from Sarajevo to Banja Luka. The line was registered with two arrivals and two departures from Sarajevo and Banja Luka daily. The first bus carried six passengers. (BiH TV news comment) This is one more proof that one part of the RS has started to implement the DPA.
