Zagreb
At 7 p.m., voting stations for the representative House of the Croatian Sabor, were closed. In Croatia, 6,502 voting stations were opened, and 152 voting stations in 147 countries around the world. The first, unofficial results of the elections will be announced after midnight. In Croatia, 3,827,123 citizens have a voting right. Mostar
This was followed by a report on the voting for the Croatian parliamentary elections in Herzegovina. The number of voters who voted today was greater than yesterday. Voters from suburbs have had an organised transportation to their voting stations. Three voting stations were opened in the General Consular Department of the Republic of Croatia for the voters from Mostar, while another voting station was opened for the voters from municipalities Prozor-Rama, Jablanica and Konjic. Voting stations were opened in the consular departments in Capljina and Siroki Brijeg as well. There were no incidents. The report was produced by OBN reporter from the area, Alisa Dzebo.
Sarajevo
A report on the voting of Croatian citizens in the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Sarajevo followed. Every hour, some 120 voters voted. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Slobodan Maksimovic.
Banja Luka
There was no crowd in front of voting stations in Banja Luka. Approximately 280 Croatian citizens had voted by 4 p.m. There were no incidents. In some cases, refugee Serbs from Croatia were not able to vote although they had documents of the Republic of Croatia because they did not have an identity card of the RS, OBN reporter from Banja Luka, Dragan Stanimirovic, confirmed.
Brcko
One voting station was opened in Seonjaci in the Brcko District for approximately 10,000 citizens of the Republic of Croatia from the Brcko District and neighbour municipalities. The report was produced by OBN reporter from Brcko, Slobodanka Radojkovic.
Novi Travnik
This was followed by a report on long queues in front of the Republic of Croatia Consular Departments in Novi Travnik. Because of that, voters were allowed to vote until 10 p.m. last night. Citizens from the Zenica-Doboj Canton were able to vote in the voting station in Usora. Hundreds of voters from Uskoplje and Bugojno voted in Jajce. This was arranged in order to decrease lines in front of the Consular Department in Novi Travnik. The report was produced by OBN reporter from the area, Ana Drmac.
World
In the North of Kashmir, 11 people were killed in a bomb explosion at the market place. More than twenty people were injured. For the time being, no one took responsibility for the massacre. This was followed by a report on the attack on the Russian Embassy in Beirut. The attack was conducted by a Palestinian protesting against the Russian offensive in Chechenia. Two individuals were killed and seven were injured. This was followed by reports on Chechenia, Russia and Germany. This was followed by a report on the continuation of peace negotiations between Syria and Israel in the USA. This is the last key event for the establishment of a lasting peace in the Middle East. This is the second round of negotiations between the two countries and is directly connected with the future of Lebanon because some 35,000 Syrian troops have been deployed in Lebanon. Brcko
The first stage of the de-militarisation in the Brcko District has been finalised within the deadline through the dismissal of five units of the BiH Federation Army and the RS Army. Weapons and military equipment will be destroyed during this month. The third stage will be implemented by the end of February when the rest of the military units will be moved out of the Brcko District. The multi-ethnic police and SFOR will take care of security.
Banja Luka
Registration of citizens for the process of privatisation in the RS began today. The registration will last 45 days and will be implemented according to the previously agreed laws on privatisation. The report was produced by OBN reporter from Banja Luka, Nedeljka Breberina.
Sarajevo
As from January 1st, oil derivatives’ prices in the BiH Federation have been increased. Professor at the Sarajevo University, Department for Economics, Dragoljub Stojanov, think that the increase of the oil derivatives prices in the BiH Federation will not have much influence on prices of other products. Owners of oil stations think that the increase is not enough to cover their expenses. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Damir Kaletovic.
