Sarajevo

SFOR Spokesperson, Paul Hubbard, said:”Yesterday, SFOR elements of Multinational Division South-East in Bosnia and Herzegovina, acting within SFOR‘s mandate, detained an individual suspected of being Zoran Vukovic. The suspect has been processed for an immediate movement to the Hague. There were no SFOR casualties sustained during the operation”. The Hagu Tribunal indicted Zoran Vukovic for the breach of laws and customs of the war and for the crimes against humanity because of participation in raping and torturing Muslim women between July 3rd and 23rd 1992. This was followed by a report on the reactions to the decision of the BiH Presidency member, Alija Izetbegovic, to object the decision on the restructure of the BiH Council of Ministers, adopted by other two members of the Presidency. Izetbegovic said that the decision was against the BiH Constitution and destructive for the vital inerests of BiH Federation and Bosniak people. The Advisor of the BiH Presidency Chairman, Tihomir Begic, said that the veto of Alija Izetbegovic showd that he saw BiH as a centralised and unitary state.

A few days ago, news that the Croatian Minister of Interior Affairs, Ivan Penic, promised to arrest and hand over Fikret Abdic to the BiH autrhorities was published. After that, both representatives of Croatia and BiH denied that. The Croatian Minister claims that at the recent meeting he had with the BiH Federation Minister of Internal Affairs, Mehmed Zilic, it was agreed that the decision abou eventual arrest of Fikret Abdic would be made by the Croatian Ministry of Justice. This was confirmed by the BiH Federation Minister of Internal Affairs. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Damir Kaletovic.

World

Military rebels in Ivory Coast announced that they dismissed the President of the country and established the Committy of National Salvation. This was followed by reports on a highjack of an Indian plane, continuation of fights in Chechenia and security situation in the USA during the Holidays. Banja Luka

All hubs of the companies in the RS have to submitt their projects for privatisation to the Hub for Privatisation by December 31st. This is especially important for 45, so called, “strategic companies”, determined by the RS Government in order to speed up the process of privatisation in the RS. Washington

The US Agency for International Development explained to the US Government and to the public reasons for the suspension of help in the process of privatisation in the BiH Federation. The main reason was unwillingnes of authorities and managers of big companies to start the privatisation process. For the first time, the amount of the suspended help was announced. Approximately two million dollars of the USAID support was suspended. The report from Washington for TV INFO was produced by Slobodan Pavlovic, reporter of the SENSE Agency.

Mostar

Last week, Mostar and the Neretva river valley were flooded. Damage caused by severe weather conditions have been estimated to several million DEM. Inhabitants from the area accused “Elektroprivreda” company in Sarajevo for causing the damage. The Canton Ministers agreed that the damage was caused due to low-quality work and lack of coordination within Elektroprivreda itself. They decided to send an invoice to the Elektroprivreda for the damage. The report was produced by OBN reporter from Mostar, Denis Vila.

Sarajevo

This was followed by a reaction of the Elektroprivreda Director, Meho Obradovic, about the accusations from Mostar. The damage made on the buildings of Elektroprivreda is worth 18 million DEM. Meho Obradovic denied accusations from Mostar that negligence was the main cause. He added that he did not feel responsible and that he would not submit his resign asked by the Mostar Deputy Mayor, Safet Orucevic. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Anes Alic.
