Draught and extremely high temperatures have lasted in B&H for several weeks. According to the forecast, temperatures will decrease on Friday, Slobodan Maksimovic reported.
B&H
Fires are raging all around B&H. The state of emergency has been proclaimed in Gracanica. Fire-fighters are trying to prevent spread of the fire into populated areas. Reported by Svjetlana Celic.
Sarajevo
The B&H Presidency adopted a six-month report of the B&H Central Bank. They also adopted four documents: protocols for abolishment of death penalty, prohibition of discrimination of women, preventing participation of children in the war and prohibition of misuse of children’s pornography. The Presidency feels that all border crossings have the same regulation about green cards. The report was produced by Adis Saranovic.
Zvornik
The Director of the Border Service, Slavisa Vukovic abolished control of green cards, until the B&H Council of Ministers adopt a joint standpoint in this issue. The UN Mission donated three more vehicles to the Border Service. Reported by Vedran Persic.
Banja Luka
Pensioners in Banja Luka have protested for two days. The RS Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik addressed protestors. Pensioners expressed their displeasure by preventing him to talk. They threatened that they would boycott the elections. Sanja Srdic produced the report.
Sarajevo
150 employees of the Sarajevo meat industry “Upi-Simes” protested today, demanding KM 7000 per each employee. “Workers did not receive 32 salaries”, said one of the employees, Zahid Kunic. Management of “Upi-Simes” feel that payment of the requested amount is unfeasible. They have asked for help from the Canton Sarajevo Government 15 times so far, and have not received any reply yet. The Federal Law on employment and social security of the unemployeed has been in procedure at the Parliament for a long time. There are about 265 000 unemployeed persons in the Federation. Banja Luka
The SFOR Commander, Ronald Adams met the RS Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik in Banja Luka. “We expect that RS authorities will meet initiators of construction of the refugee camp in Kastel, and find a solution together”, said the RS Minister for Internal Affairs, Sredoje Novic. “Situation is the same in the Federation. Such camps could be constructed in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zenica, etc.”, he added.
The RS Minister for refugees and displaced persons, Miladin Dragicevic resigned, because of pressures, as he said, from the International Community, several associations and individuals.

The Council of the Mostar University scheduled a session for tomorrow, when they will decide on replacement of the Head of the University, Marko Tadic. “I expect that the Council will comply with the University Law, and reject the request for my replacement”, Mr. Tadic said.
