Tuzla

Mustafa Ajdaslic deposited money at the Commercial Bank for construction of a factory in Tuzla. Ajdaslic borrowed the money from a foreign partner. There are no new information from the Commercial Bank. Reported by Amarildo Gutic.

Sarajevo

The police in Sarajevo discovered a group of counterfeiters. One of the suspects, Dragan Micevic is in the RS. Counterfeited KM 50 and KM 100 notes have been in circulation in the Federation and the RS. The report was produced by Svjetlana Celic.

Sarajevo

A new privatisation fund “Bosfin” was registered in the Federation. Citizens have not invested their certificates yet, because they do not trust privatisation funds, Damir Kaletovic reported.

Banja Luka

The RS Assembly scheduled a meeting on 24th August. They will discuss the Government measures for improvement of difficult financial conditions, that have arisen due to huge budget deficits. Dragan Stanimirovic produced the report.

Washington

Addressing participants of the International Leaders’ Forum, the US President Bill Clinton praised two guests from B&H: the RS Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik and the SDP leader, Zlatko Lagumdzija, adding that they bring prosperity and hope to the people of B&H. Clinton said that Croatia was a positive example of democratic changes in south-east Europe. Kemal Kurspahic reported from Washington.

Russia

Russia accepted the offered British help in rescuing 116 people from the submarine at the bottom of the Barents Sea. They refused the American help, fearing that Americans would discover their nuclear secrets. Military secrets are still more important than human lives, OBN journalist, Mladen Maric concludes.

Suceska

The PDHR, Ralph Johnson visited Suceska village. He was worried because local authorities had not found incendiaries in Srebrenica yet. “The US Government will encourage you to participate in the elections”, Mr. Johnson said to citizens of Srebrenica. The US Government provided money for reconstruction of 20 houses in the village of Suceska, Vedran Persic reported.

Mostar

The OHR welcomed progress in implementation of the Property Law in West Mostar. “The local police did a good job during the football match Velez-Zrinski”, the UN Spokesman, Stefo Lehmann said. The UN called for Serbs to apply for vacancies in police administrations in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. The report was produced by Denis Vila.

Mostar

The EU started granting loans for reconstruction of flats through the “Mostar Bank” from Zagreb. Many citizens are interested in these loans. Maximum loan is KM 50 000, Denis Vila confirmed.

Bugojno

After two years of searching for space for the First Croatian Elementary school, the solution was finally found. Croat children will go to the Third Elementary School, together with Bosniac children. Ana Drmac produced the report.
