The Hague

Five out of six Croats from the “Kupreskic and others” group, were sentenced to six to twenty five years in prison by the Hague Tribunal for the crimes committed against the Bosniak civilians in the Ahmici village on April 16th 1993. The Hague Tribunal Council proclaimed them guilty of oppression based on politics, race or religion, which is one of the biggest crimes against humanity. Sarajevo

The BiH Federation Agency for Banking deprived the “BH Bank” of its banking license today and started up a procedure for the winding up of the bank. The decision was brought after six months of receivership. However, the interest of creditors could not have been protected. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Adis Saranovic.

World

The ruling parties in Serbia, socialists and radicals, rejected a proposal of opposition parties for premature elections in Serbia. They said there was no a parliamentary crisis in Serbia and there was no need for the elections. Several thousand followers of Slobodan Milosevic gathered last night in the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica, in order to celebrate the Serb New Year, organised by the Socialist People Party. Some 10,000 citizens of Belgrade gathered in the center of the city last night in order to protest against the current regime in Serbia. In Chechenia, Russian planes intensified their strikes against Chechen rebels. The report on these and other current events in the world was produced by OBN journalist, Duska Jurisic.

Sarajevo

A business center “Gorenje from Velenje” was opened in Sarajevo today as part of the business cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia. The center is worth some three million DEM. A repair service will be established within the center. The goal of the center is to improve the distribution of Gorenje’s products in BiH. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Anes Alic.

The Guest of TV INFO

The guest of TV INFO, and the presenters Danijela Bozic and Mujo Delibegovic, was the President of the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce, Josko Cuk. Josko Cuk said that the opening of the Center and similar projects showed an intention of the company and the Slovenian Government to encourage investment in BiH. At the beginning, some 180 people from BiH will get a job. And the plan for this year is to employ some 500 people within the project.

Tuzla

A report on the 40,000 refugees who are currently placed in the Tuzla Municipality area. Five years after the Dayton Peace Agreement, there are four collective centers in the town for refugees. Bijeljina

A piece on the process of return in the area which has been endangered because some of the Municipality heads do not respect the decision of the High Representative on the extended suspension of the municipality land distribution. A seven member family from Novi Sad which came to Banja Luka during the NATO strikes against Yugoslavia. Now, they do not want to return to Novi Sad because their house was destroyed. The report was produced by OBN reporter from Banja Luka, Sanela Zivkovic.

Sarajevo

A piece on the recent decision of the Independent Media Commission to introduce fees for the usage of radio and TV frequencies in BiH. Both in the BiH Federation and the RS there were some claims that the decision would be not accepted. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Adis Saranovic.
