Joint Power Coordination Center for Bosnia and Herzegovina

The OHR welcomes the formation of the Joint Power Coordination Center (ZEKC) by representatives of the three Elektroprivreda in Bosnia and Herzegovina yesterday.

The objective of the ZEKC is to coordinate the work of the three power transmission systems in a secure and effective manner and to ensure the transmission of electric energy from generating facilities to domestic and foreign consumers.

The ZEKC was established in accordance with the standards of the Union for the Coordination of Production and Transmission of Electricity (UCPTE) and the European Union (EU) under the guidance of the OHR and with the participation of Electricite de France (EDF) and the British Department for International Development (DFID).

The three Elektroprivreda are represented on the Management Board of the ZEKC. Mr. Omeragic from Elektroprivreda of the Croatian Community based in Mostar (EP HZBH) has been elected president, Mr. Cokorilo from Elektroprivreda of Republika Srpska based in Trebinje (ERS) has been appointed director, and Mr. Markovic from Elektroprivreda Bosnia and Herzegovina based in Sarajevo (EP BiH) will represent the ZEKC at the UCPTF.

All details necessary to ensure the functioning of the ZEKC in accordance with the signed agreement will be defined in the upcoming period of time.
