Inzko Meets Croatian, Slovenian and Turkish Foreign Ministers

The High Representative and EU Special Representative, Valentin Inzko, met today with Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Jandrokovic, Slovenian Foreign Minister Samuel Zbogar and Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. The High Representative and EU Special Representative set out the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s EU and NATO accession process.

During the meetings High Representative and EU Special Representative Inzko briefed the Foreign Ministers on the OHR transition process with special emphasis on resolution of the state property issue.

“OHR’s transition remains a priority and BiH leaders need to refocus their efforts on adopting these reforms,” said HR-EUSR Inzko. “Action on state property has floundered during recent months. Once an inventory has been completed the country’s politicians will have the information they need to be able to discuss its apportionment”.

The High Representative and EU Special Representative thanked the Croatian, Slovenian and Turkish Foreign Ministers for their country’s support to Bosnia and Herzegovina. He called for further support with regard BiH’s bid for full NATO and EU membership.

HR-EUSR Inzko underlined the need for a functional political dialogue in the country. “The PIC will want to see evidence of a sustainable political dialogue when it meets in November” he said.

The HR-EUSR is attending the Bled Strategic Forum, organized by the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is focusing the politics of economic crisis.

The High Representative and EU Special Representative also met with Stewart Jones, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, in Bled today.
