The High Representative is pleased to announce the ratification of an interim Board of Governors for Radio Television Bosnia and Herzegovina which will be assigned the task of overseeing the restructuring process at the network.
Following nominations offered by members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the High Representative ratified nine members last week.
An additional two nominees, Lamija Hadiosmanovic and Dunja Blazevic, were ratified yesterday, July 15th.
The ratification was in accordance with the General Framework Agreement for Peace and a Memorandum of Understanding signed by two of the three Presidency members last month.
The Board is comprised of leading professionals from the legal, journalistic, academic, business and artistic communities in BiH. The High Representative sought to appoint a Board without political party officials that would reflect the country’s ethnic diversity.
The High Representative extends his appreciation to all those who have accepted to serve on the Board and pledges his full support as they set about building a robust public broadcasting sector in the tradition of best European practice.
