High Representative Valentin Inzko met today with Mario Jurkic, Speaker of the Posavina Cantonal Assembly and the Deputy Speaker Anes Osmanovic, to discuss a number of issues, including cantonal finances and issues related to national representation in the Cantonal Government.
The High Representative said that Governments and legislatures at all levels have an obligation to uphold Constitution and implement the Peace Agreement.
At the meeting the High Representative underlined that this issue highlights, once again, the need for the prompt appointment of judges to the Constitutional Court of the FBiH in order to complete the Panel for the Protection of the Vital Interests.
“The judges to the VNI Panel have remained un-appointed for too long” said the High Representative today. “It is high time these appointments were made so that the Panel can carry out its duties and decide on requests like the one related to the Posavina Canton Government.”
